Provided by YP.comI have to admit I was a bit scared since this was the first time I ever have been waxed. Had my chest and back done by Joanne who did a great job! She was professional, courteous and personable. She explained what she was going to do and why she was doing it. She did not try to sell me any products like so many other skin professionals have tried to do. I would highly recommend Joanne for all of your skin care needs

Provided by YP.comI have had my White Capped Pionus for 27 years, and have been bringing him to Midwest Bird since they moved from Westchester to Elmwood Park when I moved back to the Chicago area . They have seen him in health for trims, and sickness, and finally for his last heartbeat. Always, they have been kind, caring, compassionate, professional and there for me, as well as my bird, providing information and follow-up.
I would refer anyone who wants excellent care for their animals, to Midwest and all the staff.

Provided by YP.comI have had my white capped pionus since he was a baby, but have been bringing him to Midwest Bird Hospital since i moved back to Chicago 15 years ago. They have seen him when he was well and when he was sick, and finally when I brought him in last night for his last heartbeat. They have shown great affection and professional care for him, and help for me over the years, giving me options when he needed things done, and options in his last days. Very professional and compassionate people!

Provided by YP.comThe hospital has been there when I needed them and I can always talk to them of my concerns. The staff members are the greatest too because when I knew my one albino parakeet wasn't going to make it and gave her to them to put her down so she wouldn't suffer, within a week I received a card from the hospital staff. It was the most beautiful card to receive. It read as if my pet was writing to me telling me not to grief for her, think of all the good memories I have of her and that one day we would meet again at the 'Rainbow Bridge' where she would be waiting for me and greet me with kisses. I just cried reading it to my husband. It was just so touching and so special. You just don't get places like that to show some sympathy what you are going through, let alone for your pet.

Provided by YP.comI had a number of doctors checking Angel out when I had to bring her in and all of them I want to thank for helping me get through her illness and bring her back to normal once again. I want to thank the staff too for their courtesy manner in handling everything and making Angel feel special that she will be cared for.

Provided by YP.comThe costs for services seem reasonable to me - after all, I'm paying for their knowledge, their services, their staff and any supplies/drugs. My view is I can pay $4 more for an office visit and see an exotic expert who likely can get to the bottom of the problem quicker - or I can take my chances with a normal dog/cat vet who maybe sees one or two guinea pigs a week (or month). Besides, if things get serious with your exotic, often your normal dog/cat vet will refer you to Midwest for special procedures or surgery.

Provided by YP.comI think these people are excellent. I think Drs. Poliakoff and Clarkson are the best vets I've come in contact with. Just like with any vet or doctor, TALK to the doctors & staff - and tell them what your concerns are and what you want for your pet! Speak up. They'll listen & try to help!

Provided by YP.comI cannot praise the Emergency Care staff at this hospital enough. Even though my dog is not a regular patient there, I really felt they took the best care possible. The entire team was so sincere, I could not have asked for a better experience. I am confident they took every measure to prolong my pet's life. I highly recommend this animal ER. My personal vet couldn't praise them enough either as they consulted with each other on actions to be taken.

Provided by YP.comThese people are exotic experts - they are much more knowledgeable about exotics than your normal vet. I've been going to them for about 2 years now, and I've never been disappointed with their work. They discuss the problem with me, advise me of my options, and always discuss the costs involved before they proceed with any work. The doctors & staff at Midwest are friendly, and you can tell they care about my animals. I've seen ferrets, turtles, iguanas, mice and zillions of birds in there.

Provided by YP.comMy guinea pigs (all 16 of 'em) and I are very pleased with the doctors and staff at this exotic animal hospital. My little gals & guys have been seen there for unexpected pregnancy, eye problems, yeast problems, lice, mites, castration/spay urinary tract infections, bladder stones, colds, tumors, accidents/spine trauma, etc. You name it we had it and they have always been treated so good thank you for being there when we have needed you.

Provided by YP.comWe had our bunny Koko at Midwest for an eye injury and we saw a new vet . We were very comfortable with them as well as the other doctors we see regularly.. They were very gentle and kind to Koko. He has been at Midwest since Memorial Day for a cornea injury and is being treated very well. It was done so well, his eye his healing very nicely. Cost here is NOT an issue. Once again, the doctor was VERY nice to him and us as well.

Provided by YP.comThank you for being so polite and respectful in our time of need I appreciate it so much and so does my baby.

Provided by YP.comI also really like that they make follow-up phone calls a few days after she has medical procedures done outside of routine checkups, just to see how things are going at home and if I have any questions.

Provided by YP.comI have been bringing my rabbit to Midwest Bird & Exotic Animal Hospital for six years and I honestly would not take her anywhere else for care. I haven't had any pets prior to my rabbit, let alone an "exotic" pet, and the doctors at Midwest that have treated her have not only provided what is in my opinion excellent care, but have also helped me to learn how to better care for her at home, without making me feel embarrassed for asking LOTS of questions. When my rabbit was younger I didn't visit them as often as I do now, but even then I felt like they remembered what was going on with her, and not just generically referencing her from notes. Now that she is getting older, and has more complicated issues, I always appreciate that the doctor and I can discuss whatever the problem may be with my rabbit, and can come up with plans of action to take so that when I get home I know exactly what I need to do to care for my "elder bunny".

Provided by YP.comI am glad such a place exists to provide any help when Angel needs it. During my span with dealing with Midwest Hospital I have written other places in other states when I wanted to be able to save my parakeet that they ended up referring me back to the Midwest Hospital so that should tell you something indeed!!

Provided by YP.comThis is such a wonderful place. I live 2 hours away and everyone here is very understanding of the commute and works with me to find an appointment time that works around the traffic.
