Good service

I recently had a very sick dog - she was 15 and we had her since she was 8 weeks. We made the painful decision to put her down and St Francis was so caring and responsive. They diagnosed her properly where another vet had missed (she had water in her lungs from a failing heart and I suspected this).

HORRIBLE, LIARS RUN, to anyother 24 hour care you can find

I used them for a very long time for my emergency vet visits, those ones at 2am when you really need help, I raise dogs, so there have been times when I was really glad they were there. I had a mastiff that got REALLY sick one night, she was 7 years old, they quoted me a bill of 1200, I said Ok for 1200 we can do that but if it goes over, I want a phone call so we can decide what to do next, the surgery was only a 50% chance, SO that night goes by no phone call, I assume she died, three days NO phone call, finally Friday 5 days later they call tell me she is ready to go home! I say great how much, they say 1200, I say perfect, so I go down to get the do, I had already paid 1200 for a deposit, so I thought I would get the dog and leave, well they have me a bill for another 1200, so it was double, I say HEy I dont have that money, KEEP THE DOG, they say go home a manager will call you and sort this out, I never get a call, two weeks later I get a collection bill for 3000they can rot!

IF YOU LIKE TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY...

Or like to be over charged this is the place to go.our kitty had a seizure in the middle of the night& I took him to St.Francis the vet on call was very good&knowledgable, nice. She asked me what tests I wanted done said there would be nothing done involving a charge unless with my permisson unless it was an emergency. That was all great until her shift was over new vet came on &repeated tests did tests that didn't need doing.I was never called. So when I went to pick up my cat I was shocked when my bill was an extra $500. I asked to speak to a manager, they werent there. So in order to take my cat home I paid the bill. When i finally got thru to talk to a manager they said sorry since you paid the bill we cant refund you your money even though it was our vets fault of miscomunicate.Very bad business.

Unethical Treatment!

St. Francis is in the business of money and not the medical care and treatment of animals. My experience with them has been one of the most HORRIBLE of my life. The majority of the staff is incompetent, rude, and have poor personal hygiene (no joke). My dog was almost killed by the excessive and incorrect blood tests, x-rays, and surgery. He was given the wrong medications and neglected in their "ICU', not being let out for the bathroom or to be evaluated by a vet in over the 8 hour shifts. They will keep your animal forever or until it dies, expecting full payment for repeated tests, procedures, meds, etc. that were not indicated and were actually detrimental to his condition. They will not release his medical records and I have caught them in several lies and inconsistencies. I still have no records and was sent to corrections less than 2 weeks after the incident. Also, Dr. Baker did not return my phone calls to discuss the situation. I am now one of dozen of people that hav

WORST vet clinic I've ever encountered

I've had pets all my life and dealt with many different veterinarians, but this place completely blew me away. Their business practices are awful (not to mention illegal) and their customer service is even worse. I had to file a complaint with the BBB against them because they had turned me over for collection with TWO separate agencies. They've cost me over $300 in bank fees and refuse to reimburse me for any part of them. Now I have to incur the cost of an attorney, but it's worth every penny if it shuts their doors forever. They have an "F" rating on BBB and have had 27 complaints filed against them in the past 36 months. This place should not be in business!

DISHONEST BUSINESS!!! POOR QUALITY! RATED "F" WITH BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU

ST. Francis has the worst rating that the BBB gives. We paid them to perform a procedure on our puppies and they said that they did it but we later found out that they did not. I asked to speak to a manager or supervisor and they would not let me. All I wanted was for them to finish the job that I paid them for and they told me to leave or they would call the police! I was not acting in a threatening manner or bothering any of their other customers. infact, my 10 week old puppy was barking a whole lot louder than I was. I just looked on the Better Business Bureau and I see that most of the vets in my area have very good ratings but ST. Francis has an "F" rating. they have had a lot of complaints against them.

Nice office

Once I called and got someone a little snooty so I waited a year and had to take a cat into the emergency vet one night. They were great. The front desk, the assistant and the vet. She was wonderful. Am taking a new dog there for shots this week and expect the same.

death of my dog

London Marie was an Italian Greyhound. She was born June 7th, 2005, she died September 8th, 2008. She was more than a dog, she was part of our family. On September 6th we took our 2 Italian Greyhounds, Buddy Roo and London Marie to St. Francis Animal Hospital in Vancouver Wa. When we got a message from Barbara Baker at St. Francis that one of our dogs had gotten loose and they were looking for her. My Mom continued to look for her the next morning, found her on the side of the road dead. We were told an employee broke protocall. They kept telling us they would take full responsiblity for loosing her and were very very sorry. We carried London out in a box. I have looked at St. Francis' web site and they have hurt alot of other people in the past several years. I wish we would have done more checking before we left our pets there. London Marie is now with our Lord and Savior, where she can play and run all she wants.

Loving and caring Clinic

I have a cat with epilepsy and one with diabetes, I love living so close to this 24 hour clinic. The vets (all but one) are so friendly and caring, as are their techs. Even my snooty Siamese likes going to them. I'm sad that I'm actually having to look for another one since we're going to be moving to Milwaukie.

Great Clinic

I've taken my cats there three times now, and have made them the permenent vet for one of them. They are always very kind and understanding. One time, one of my cats was on the brink of death and they were able to save him and return him to a normal life. I agree that the prices are a little high, but not much higher than other clinics. The fact that they are always available, communicative, and compassionate has made them a choice in my book.

Absolutely Horrible!

I will NEVER take my dog here again. The service was horrible. My dog was terribly ill and I had to take her in on a Sunday at 4am. They found nothing wrong with her. I called repeatedly to see what the next steps should be, only to be told my dogs records were locked in the vets office and he wouldnt be back until Thursday. Apparently no one else could help me. Now they will not fax my records to my normal vet without written consent from the vet there, which will take 2-3 days. I demanded my records be available to me because my dog is sick and I need to help her. Without compassion or understanding she again told me all she can do is put the request in and the vet would get to it when he can. DO NOT take your pets here unless you want to be treated with complete disrespect.

Best Care My Kids (Dog & Cat) have ever received!

Moved to Vancouver about three years ago and have been taking my kids Muffy (Shi Tzu) and Nikko (Himalayn) to St. Francis ever since. They have both received great care - and what's really nice is that no matter what time of day or night - I know I can rely on them - that a Veterinarian will be there to take care of my pets. I've been there as early as 6am and as late as 11:59pm picking up Muffy after boarding her there - the 24 Hour service they offer is GREAT!!! Thank you!!!

Great Place

I recently had to put down one of my pets and they were the most conpassionate, helpful group of people I have ever delt with. The Vet did all that he could do and I was very impressed with him. The staff there was Great. Will be taking all my pets there.
