We Love Camp BowWow

My dog and I love Camp BowWow. I've used both their daycare, and boarding services. You'll not meet a more wonderful and caring staff anywhere. My dog Zella, is a young high energy dog, all the interaction and play with other dogs is perfect for her. She and I highly recommend camp BowWow.

LOVE IT

Camp Bow Wow is great they are very friendly, flexible, and ware my dog out. I have a puppy who chews holes in walls, has ate 23 pairs of heels, and chews anything in site, Berkeley is full of energy and I have never been able to ware her out until she went to daycare.. now I get to come home and my pup wont even move off her bed she has so much fun there and it really helps with her separation anxiety as well.. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM.. They are great with her and it’s so convenient that they do baths and nail trims too so I can pick her up nice and clean.

My dog loves camp

I have a terrier mix who can be nervous around new things. The first time that she went, I watched her on Camp Bow Wow's camper cams. She had her tail wagging the whole time, and when I picked her up at the end of the day, she fell asleep in the seat beside me...and it's very hard to wear her out! Not only did my dog have a great time, but I feel like the staff is great and easy to work with. Highly recommended!

Do your dog and yourself a favor and bring him to camp!!

I've been bringing my dog to day camp at Camp Bow Wow for almost a year and I can't recommend them enough!! I have a very high-energy, 18 month old pit mix. A walk a day simply doesn't cut it for him when it comes to exercise. Not only does playing with the other pups all day leave him one tired, happy dog, it teaches him great dog socialization skills. He is incredibly dog-social and I want to ensure he stays that way. I can't think of a better way to do that than to spend hundreds of hours in a caring, controlled environment with other dogs who have also been shown to be dog-friendly. Capone (like all dogs) was evaluated individually before he could join the camp. That means that they took the time to 'interview' him rather than making a blanket judgment based on his breed. I trust the staff at Camp Bow Wow implicitly and am happy to know Capone is having the time of his life rather than sitting home bored and lonely when I'm at work.

My Special Needs dog do wonderful here

I have 4 wonderful dogs who I've been taking to camp bow wow for over a year. 2 of which are a bit special needs. Neither of them are very playful in the group, and when they board they really don't eat much. The staff does such a wonderful job working with each of them on an individual bases. Every time I check the web cam's I see my two little dogs being held and loved on by the staff. When we've boarded them I've been very pleased with how happy and healthy my dogs are when I come to pick them up and I'm extra appreciative at how the staff takes the extra time to ensure my little dogs eat while they board at camp. And should my dogs be extra stubborn and not eat, the staff always lets me know.

It didn't take to many visits before my pack really started to warm up to the staff. And even though my little dogs still aren't the most playful dogs, they both get very excited when we pull up to bow wow Its apparent that the staff smoothers them with attention.

Didn't pass !!!

I Took my two dogs to Camp Bow Wow in Salt Lake City, UT this week.  I informed the employees that Happy, my crested, was very nervous and not to put him in a situation where he'd feel cornered and become defensive.  I also asked them not to place a leash around his neck as he has a sensitive trachea.  I had a vest harness on him for leashing.

It looked to me as though Happy did great until it was time to bring him back to me.  I couldn't tell if there were 2 or 3 employees attempting the leash him but they had him backed into a corner.  Then there was some following/chasing him to get the leash on him.  They came to get me and tell me that he wasn't passing the evaluation.  When I got to the play area to get him he had been leashed with a slip lead.  He has been gagging and coughing ever since.
I was never told what actually synched the unacceptable decision.  Not that I cared at that point, they no longer had my trust as caregivers for my pets.
I'm glad I was able to watch the process on the monitor.  I feel that the employees rushed the process far too much for a nervous dog.  It is too fast for a well balanced dog.
I told the staff the day prior to the evaluation that happy was a nervous dog who needed time to gain trust of strangers.
I would not feel comfortable entrusting them with any special needs pet.  While every one was very friendly,  I don't think the employees take the time needed for a true evaluation of any pet.
