So thankful that I found this place. Valley really helped me get back on my feet. Admission process took a while but they were busy when I came in. Food was great on most days, and staff went above and beyond to help me.

I had a recent stay at Valley Hospital right before the New Year. If you are looking for a place to get better and on the right path this is the place. They have down to Earth staff and excellent doctors who helped me through my entire stay. Really excited start my new life as well as attend their outpatient groups. I would recommend this Hospital to anyone in need.

I took my daughter here for some extra support last month, the facility is very nice, the staff assisted me from beginning to end and were very open with communication. My daughter told me the food was delicious! She has been attending their outpatient program recently and really likes it. I really appreciate what Valley Hospital has done for us and would recommend them to anyone in need of these services.

I am the owner of a consulting firm and a high level consultant to c suite executives. My brother is also a high functioning professional. He was experiencing some mental health problems. On the first day he voluntarily admitted himself to valley, Dr Andrea Raby petitioned him to be committed on an involuntary basis without legal recourse, and then to be sent to the county urgent psych care unit despite his complying with his treatment protocol and our family requesting to move him to a private care facility. He is now facing up to six months with a renewable petition for forced care as an involuntary patient at county, with forced injectible treatment. We have hired a lawyer who indicated his involuntary status is illegal. We will be filing a lawsuit. In the meantime I feel terrible for him. Dr. Raby abuses her power and is impossible to deal with. I cannot say enough bad things about this hospital or their treatment of someone I so dearly love. Please do not seek treatment here. It is an unethical facility.

One Flew Over the Coocoo's Nest

I was recently in Valley Hospital for depression and treatment of bi-polar disorder. Unfortunately, I wouldn't send my worst enemy their! I was in the Women's Unit. While the Med. Dir. is wonderful, the staff is completely inept, except for 3 techs. Dealt with issues such as nurses sleeping on the job, waiting over 3 hours for PRN's, and argumentative staff who lacked knowledge and frequently over or under medicated patients. Food is awful, although dining staff was very nice as was Monica, the cleaning woman. There were fights amoung patients, often times physical, and bullying. Most nurses did not use sanitary precautions when handing out meds. Meds were NEVER given on time or efficiently. There was a constant "hurry up and wait" attitude and groups were NEVER held on time. Inconsistent, negative, rude, incompetent staff made up of "floaters". DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!! Recommend Banner Scottsdale instead. Stay away from Valley at all costs!

This is a insurance hungry hospital

I went here in Sept 2013. Because my meds stop working and pretty much I had a mental breakdown. I had to choose to either go volluntary or involuntary. Either way it was a choice to choose my care or to go to state. So when I came to valley it was a worst mistake ever!!! I ended up in the woman program that did crap for me! The phy dr Valbuena is a joke! They play with your mind when u get to go home. They don't listen to u. Even better they make u think your issues are much worst then there really are. Therapy group is a joke. This hosptial did nothing for me!! I pretty much drove them nuts and argue with them for they can release me. This hospital traumatized to the point I get flashbacks and I start freaking out inside. They wouldn't either return my boyfriend calls when he called to see how was care was going and to see what he needs to do to get me out. They don't care about the paients. They treat us like jail birds! It took my boyfriend 2 months to get me fully to eat again. And the lack if sleep u there watch out u better have a sleep aid to help u sleep cause u can't sleep at this place. Don't to to valley! Whatever you do! If I go down again I'll go to aurora or banner mental health.

Don't ever go to Valley they were sold a year ago to a different company it sucks, if I didnot go there I would have been court ordered the psy was great but the staff was rude and not organized, and when my insurance ran out I was throw out like a bat out of hell even through the psy said she wanted me to stay. The programs now suck too. It is a very unorganized hospital. Nobody knows what the other is doing.

I took my wife to Valley hospi...

I took my wife to Valley hospital when she was going through a change of medication for bi polar disorder.

When we arrived, the lobby wasn't busy yet it took over 4.5 hrs to get her admitted [ts MUCH harder to get out] most of that time was spent in a small room reminiscent of a police interrogation room you'd see in a movie. I didn't take her to a real hospital [big mistake!] because I thought the emergency room wait would be to long.

The staff are incompetent and are rarely on the same page.We were told that since she was there voluntarily, she could leave voluntarily. its not that easy at all.

We both tried for 3 days to get her released or transferred to another hospital but the staff made this very difficult, a social worked threatened her with going to state hospital if she tried to get released even though she has never tried to harm herself or anyone else. She was in a somewhat fragile emotional state and this threat scared her very badly, it did what is was intended to do.

The little bald guy that watches over visitation acts more like a wannabe prison guard, trying to look intimidating while walking around the room, eavesdropping on conversation between patients and family, and treating people like jail inmates, instead of paying clients who come voluntarily for help.

The Dr. my wife saw was helpful but didn't have a lot of time. He requested that she be put in the woman's support group but was mistakenly put into a group of people who were just out of jail, had bad drug problems, attempted suicide or all of the above.

She told them for 4 days she was in the wrong group, but inept staff wouldn't listen to her. Her DR. finally got the problem corrected and she spent her last 2 days in the right group which she found helpful.

One of the staff made a mistake with her medication dosage but she had the presence of mind to ask him to look at the bottle for the prescribed amount so she wouldn't take the double dose he tried to give her.

She finally lied to them about the thoughts she was having so she could just get out of this place, we took her somewhere else and she got the help she needed and is is doing fine.

We are getting bills for our copay from Valley Hospital which we are not disputing but she has asked twice starting a mouth ago for an itemized statement which they cant seem to produce. One of her calls was returned today and she was treated very rudely on the phone.

We are going to try to get copy's of her records from them which i suspect will be another battle. we will also file a complaint with our insurance carrier and hopefully, if they get enough, they will drop Valley Hospital from there plan. I really hope no one else has to go through what she and I did.

The spirit of Nurse Ratchet is alive at Valley Hospital.....
