We've been using Mountain Woodcare for years, and are never disappointed. We just had Jay stain our decks and home again, and he is one of the few contractors I know who does what he says he'll do, and does it on time! The house looks like new, and he uses a very high quality stain that really lasts. He is a pleasure to work with.

I had never seen such a thick build-up of linseed oil on a log building before - decades worth. It was a big job, but Jay did a beautiful job and kept a very ecologically significant site very neat and clean. A huge improvement.

We highly recommend Jay and Mountain Woodcare. The quality of the work was excellent, and the service was outstanding. He was very dependable and reliable, and is one of the few Boulder workmen to show up exactly when he promised. We would strongly recommend him.

They removed old stain and restained our redwood siding and deck. We get nothing but compliments for how it looks. Jay is a extremely knowledgeable and experienced and a pleasure to work with. Do yourself a favor and hire Jay/Mountain Woodcare to get the job done right. No one else in the business guarantees their work for 5 years. We've known about Jay and his company for many years since more than half of the homes in our neighborhood have been stained by Mountain Woodcare. Several years ago we made the mistake of hiring another company to stain our home for less $$. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for. If Mountain Woodcare had done the work it would have saved us money in the long run. Jay and his crew are great people to work with (a bonus - they are all good-looking guys). Jay is a perfectionist and takes great care and pride in his work. We highly recommend Jay and Mountain Woodcare!

WE HAVE BEEN USING MOUNTAIN WOODCARE FOR SEVERAL YEARS, AND EACH TIME THEY SHOW UP WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL, DO AN EXCELLENT JOB, NO SHORTCUTS, USE A GREAT PRODUCT, AND CLEAN UP AFTER , WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

We hired Jay Nelson (Mountain Woodcare) in 2007 to completely strip our house and then stain it. He was expensive compared to others we got estimates from, but we were so impressed when he came to talk to us that we decided to take a chance. Believe me....you get what you pay for. Our house turned out gorgeous and remained looking great for 5 years. His return visit this year (5 years) again produced wonderful results.Jay and his crew are very dependable, personable and hard workers. They take great care of your property and clean up well when they're finished. I definitely would recommend them.

The restoration work completed by Jay and his team in June 2011 brought our 40-year-old log home "back to life." The logs were stripped down to the original wood, cleaned, and a finish applied. Our deck and garage were completed at the same time. We will continue with the plan Jay recommends into the future as we were more than satisfied with the outcome and have received many compliments. Jay and his team are professional with superb working ethics.

We had Jay out to strip the awful paint off our wood sided home and could not have been more pleased with the results as well as with Jay himself. Our siding ended up being redwood and it looks absolutely beautiful now. He is professional, courteous, REALLY knows his stuff and does what he says he will do in the timeframe he says he will do it. What a concept! We had him out a few months later to stain our new deck and were just as happy with that work as well. I would highly recommend Jay to anyone.

Jay stripped the previous dark red stain off the redwood siding of my home and re-stained it to a more natural color. His team was here when he said they would be, worked hard while they were here and completed the job as scheduled.
