My family attended this church for several years. Newly walking in the faith when I first came to this church made me very susceptible to the legalistic views presented by pastor chuck o'neal as the very words of God. We were discouraged from having friends who were not attendees, questioned if we missed any sunday services at all, ordered to quit counseling we were attending (with a Biblical counselor!) and yet we were not offered any alternative counseling, and told that any problems (financial, etc) we were experiencing were a direct fallout of not attending every wednesday and additional sermons on sunday (after the church services, from 1-3pm). At the time we had small children and this was not always an option. When we choose to leave, we also were shunned, other congregants were told we were in unrepentant sin, and close friends were forbidden to talk to us or would face church discipline. Very sad. Fortunately, our story isn't as tragic as some others because this did not lead us to question God, only Chuck.

Wonderful church, loving and caring people, dear saints of God. Excellent expository preaching by Pastor Chuck week after week. True blessing to my soul. Come and you will be blessed too if you love the Word of God!

I have attended BGBC for over 15 years. This is a wonderful church. Sincere people with loving hearts. Pastor Chuck is an excellent expository preacher who faithfully delivers the Word of God week after week. He is compassionate and steadfast. I have been very blessed being under his sheperding.There are some people who are slandering the pastor for his stand on the truth. They are hostile revilers causing strife amoung the brethren.

I found the teaching at this church to be legalistic and repetitive. Once I left I was never spoken to again by anyone from the church. Very sad indeed.Also, the rules of review state:•You are not allowed to do the following:•Review your own business or your competitor's business;I noticed reviews by BGBC and the pastor of the church.Interesting.....

“Anita” typifies a reviling, hateful spirit in which facts are horribly twisted and families are callously abused in order to attack and defame BGBC. “Anita” hides behind a false name while viciously and cowardly attacking a family in the church that has suffered far too much already. It is this type of incredibly destructive behavior that makes a lawsuit necessary. It is convenient and crafty to wage a three and a half year war of reviling defamation in which you and those with you ACCUSE THE PASTOR AND CHURCH OF HORRIFIC CRIMES AGAINST GOD AND MEN, to then hide behind 1 Cor. 6:7-8. Matthew Henry (Charles Spurgeon's favorite commentator) comments on 1 Cor. 6:7-8; “IN MATTERS OF GREAT DAMAGE TO OURSELVES OR FAMILIES, WE MAY USE LAWFUL MEANS TO RIGHT OURSELVES. WE ARE NOT BOUND TO SIT DOWN AND SUFFER THE INJURY TAMELY, WITHOUT STIRRING FOR OUR OWN RELIEF…” We are now using lawful means to right the ministry of the Gospel at BGBC and to protect our families from furth

My family attended this church for years. The last 8 years we attended this pastor twisted scripture many times to suit what he wanted 'his' church members to 'look' like, pharisees in the making. He wouldn't go to the authorities when it was brought to his attention that 2 children had been raped and sodomized by a sibling, in his words "he and the elders were well aware of what was going on but didn't want the young man taken out of the home and didn't want homeschooling attacked." When someone reported the behavior to CSD, Chuck went on a verbal attack on the woman who made the report. Also went on to send letters to the churches the woman went to telling the new pastors she was the vilest of sinners. Now he is suing previous members for 'questioning' scripturally why he would say and do things he was doing. He berated psychology, yet was getting a degree in psychology, and didn't want anyone in the church to know he got a degree in psychology.

Wonderful church! Love the sermons and the people are so warm and welcoming. The beautiful new nursery was a delight and very safe. Several ladies greeted me on my first visit and I really enjoyed the depth of teaching. Thank you! Like!!

Please read all of the reviews here. You will see a trend among former members asking the pastor tough questions and then getting shunned by the pastor/ church. After attending for 2 years, we discovered that the reason people left vs what the pastor told us were completely different. This is a dangerous place of spiritual abuse and excessive control. I was looking for a church that was Bible-based, family-friendly. What I found was a church that knowingly harbored a sexual offender, allowing him access to the nursery and children each week, without notifying parents. I found sermons that had to do with the pastor's pet social agendas interspersed with hand-selected verses to prove his point. Most disturbing was finding that members shun former members who question the pastor and families kept so busy doing church work/activities, that they few relationships with their own family and friends outside of the church. No church is perfect, but this is spiritual chaos.

What a blessing it is to be part of a church that elevates the Word of God to its proper place! A warm,loving body of believers, and a Pastor that passionately teaches verse-by-verse through all of Scripture. Beaverton Grace is truly a gem!!
