Dr. William Heimer graduated Cum Laude in 1983 from the University of Central Florida. After obtaining his degree in Chemistry, Dr. Heimer went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of South Florida Tampa. From 1987-1988, Dr. Heimer interned at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Heimer also carried out his Dermatology Residency in the medicine department of Walter Reed. In previous positions, Dr. Heimer was a Platoon Leader/Flight Surgeon, a General Medical Officer for the Pentagon U.S. Army Health Clinic, a Staff Dermatologist at the Eisenhower Army Medical Center, the Chief of Dermatology at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, and also an Associate Clinical Professor at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Heimer has been awarded with numerous military awards, including: Expert Field Medical Badge, National Defense Ribbon, Army Superior Unit Award, and Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf. Dr. Heimer is associated with the American Society of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Georgia Dermatology Society, the San Diego Dermatology Society, the 38th Parallel Medical Society of Korea, and also the US Army Flight Surgeon’s Association.
