I would NOT recommend Lucas Landscaping to my WORST enemy. Sigh!!! I would blame myself for not getting multiple quotes but still no excuse for their poor customer service. If you just built a new home and need landscaping, stay away from Lucas!! I will honestly say that the quality of the work is good but it does not offset the employees you interact with at Lucas Landscaping. One, the Bob Jr guy is super cocky. He talks to you as if he is always right and it's more so about his business than what the customer wants/desire. First, I had my sprinkler system installed by Lucas "affiliate" which was just ok (but better than Lucas Landscaping). Two weeks after the installation of no further communication whatsoever, I get a phone call from Lucas Landscaping (Bob Jr.), shy before 5pm asking if they can arrive tomorrow morning! Talk about short notice! And when I asked why the super short notice and how my fiancé and I have to work tomorrow.... "Well can't you just start coughing and play as if you're sick?" UM NO!!! He was so eager to complete the job the next day and had a bunch of excuses to why he couldn't communicate earlier. Then he mentioned they can start without me there as long as I get home towards the end, ok I can work with that. Now, they did do me a favor by cleaning up some of the debris that the home contractor left - as stated during the quote process - but the workers place the debris in my recycle bin and left it there!!! When my fiancé ask them about it "well it was a favor" WTF! Yes I appreciate the favor but why place it in my recycling bin??? Why not ask me for a garbage bag or something!?!? I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! Just go with someone else because they are very unprofessional and not dependable. Update: Really a zero star! Just received confirmation that my cable line got cut when landscaping was completed! It was marked on the ground too so what the hell. Absolute terrible service I've ever encountered!

I bought the same pavers bricks 3 different times over the span of a year for boarder of my drive way. I paid 3 different prices each. 1st time I paid 1 dollar per brick, 2nd time the owners daughter ask the rude owner what is the price of these..he replies $1.50 per brick and he didn't even pay attention what kind of paver is was (only reason why I didn't question it is because this purchase was a year later after the 1 dollar per brick purchase), 3rd time I paid 0.75 per brick ....they are terrible! I am done going there.

Poor customer service

We had ordered fire wood to be delivered to our house on a Saturday. Lucas would not give us a commitment time for delivery and did not deliver on the day which we were committed to for delivery. Very disappointed and very poor service. Won't ise Lucas' again.

Poor customer service. Bob Lucas does not stand behind the work they do. Although 1 year warranty was promised its impossible to get Bob to return calls or even acknowledge problems. Don't spend your money with Lucas Nursery.

I would never recommend this Nursery. I wanted to order $500 worth of top soil. I live 2 miles away and they wanted to charge me the same delivery rate as someone who lives 12+ miles away. No negotiation on the delivery rate. They obviously have no business sense. They are willing to give up $500 in revenue over $20 on the delivery charge. I highly recommend using Margolis (734-482-0771). Much better nursery and staff.

The first time we came here, w...

Bob Lucas treats customers horribly.

The first time we came here, we waited 45 minutes for someone to answer a few simple questions on delivery and planting fees.

The second time we came here, we were buying over $3k worth of trees between large spruces and maples. It was nearing closing time, and they actually sent someone out to follow us around the back rushing us to get out. By the time we finished checking out, I looked at the time, and we were only 7 minutes after their closing time.

To me, as a local business, I would gladly stay behind a few extra minutes to win the business, but apparently they felt differently.

We realized that given the size of our lot, we didn't need this many trees. I was already feeling pretty upset about the treatment both times, and wasn't feeling great about spending so much money with them. We then called them and asked, since none of the trees have been delivered yet, if it was possible to refund 2 of them. They agreed.

We then drove 40+ minutes to the nursery, and once we got there, realized that the receipt we had must have fallen out of one of our pockets when running errands earlier that day. We told them this, and Lucas's daughter started yelling "sir I TOLD YOU on the phone, and specifically specified you needed a receipt" over and over again. By the third time she screamed this, I had lost it and said: do you not understand how to treat customers? How can you treat customers this way?! Don't you understand basic customer service?

We had asked to see a manager, and she snidely informed us that she was the daughter of the owner. Her father then came over and repeated that they need the original receipt even though they have it on file. They were concerned that we would try to claim they didn't deliver the trees and weren't refunded. I assured them over and over again that we would gladly sign any document or written note (as a new contract) to show that the amount had been refunded. They stubbornly refused to do any refunds without the receipt.

We then drove 40+ minutes back home to search for the receipt, hoping it had fallen out of a pocket at home as opposed to out running the errands. Once we still could not find it, we called the nursery again to ask if we can write some sort of agreement. The owner comes on the line and tells me "you and your husband are by far the meanest, rudest, most vicious, and awful human beings..."

Let's just stop here. First of all, even if that is true, it is NEVER okay to sit there and yell at a customer. Secondly, it's not true. We were treated poorly 3X and finally got fed up. They ended up agreeing to a written note and refund -- but why couldn't they have done that in the first place without me making 3 long trips and a full on screaming match at the store?

I have never received such awful service in my entire life. I would stay away from that store and purchasing any of their plants, because this experience has taught me that if anything ever goes wrong with them like a potential return or tree dying -- they not only do not take any responsibility, but also feel fully justified at providing poor customer service and yelling at you. This is one store where the owners fully believe they are ALWAYS right, and the customer is always wrong.

Frankly, given how awful my experience was all these times, I have a hard time believing any positive review of them is legit, especially if they've never reviewed anything else. Seems like Lucas Jr. is having some employees and family review him to boost some numbers. A few reviews on Yelp are pretty accurate in calling Lucas Jr. arrogant and rude.

We called and asked if they had plants we wanted and they said, oh yes we do, but when we got there and they spent thirty minutes looking for them. We then went and found the owner and told him we had been waiting and what was going on? it turned out they did not have them after spending thirty minutes driving there and thirty minutes waiting. our advice go somewhere else!
