Provided by YP.comI don't write negagive reviews as a practice. However, with the well-being of seniors at stake for being jeapardized, I did not feel I had a choice other than publicizing my family's experience.
My 87-year-old mother stayed with the Lifestream facilitity in Youngtown for several years; first in a 2-bedroom two bath apartment, then to assistd living at JT's Place, and then to their nursing home facility in Cook Hall.
Our experience went downhill while my mom was in JT's Place, and there was a change in Administrative Staff, leaving the caregivers extremely disheartened. Many of the wonderful people my mom had taking care of her left for other facilities, leaving people who were loving -- and disheartened employees.
After a short hospital stay, I moved my mom to the nursing home at Cook. At $7,000 per month, I expected my mom to be treated extremely well -- which was FAR from the case. Last week when I visited my mom, I found her bathroom filthy, her toilet filled with feces and she had not been bathed in several days and was wearing dirty pajamas, and staring at a wall. After I cleaned her bathroom, I asked one of the aids there for airfreshener and was told that I should bring my own from home.
3-days later - I moved my mom to group home in Phoenix, which is much closer to where I live, warm and charming decor with fresh home-cooked meals every day -- for half the cost of the Lifestream Nursing Home.
Please - do your research -- ask friends ad consult Senior Care Professionals who can guide you through the process of taking care of elderly people you love -- and do not bring your loved one here.
