There something wrong with these people very unprofessional the lady literally said the F word probably six times in a 15 minute conversation these animals are not taking care is like death row for cats it’s disgusting all they care about is stealing money from people they’ve already been in trouble with the Humane Society all the cats were removed .It is such a bad place..they let the cats get so sick some of them were near death this place needs to be shut down permanently no decent human being would allow something like this to happen I pray one day the state of Ohio shuts them up let me down permanently they need to lose her license no shelter what would allow cats to be very sick

I absolutely love my two fur babies that I got at WSC.. I had to move from a house to an apartment and needed to find the right place that would let me have my furry kids... I’m so happy and blessed to have these loves in my life. They definitely make my days better. The staff at WSC was very helpful and courteous, and so many beautiful cats there I wish I could give them all homes.. I can’t thank you enough WSC.

I love cats so when I was offered a chance to foster through wsc I was thrilled. I volunteer three days a week. They run completely on volunteers where each room is cleaned every morning. They always can use more help and are working hard to keep these kitties happy and find them forever homes.
They have an on site clinic where they tale care of the sick kitties and work with a wonderful local vet.
When surrendering a cat they ask for but do NOT require donations. Each cat gets tested and all their vaccinations along with a microchip and a spay or neuter as needed.
I love these little kitties and am always extremely happy when one goes home.

My experience is endless and ongoing. I spend six days a week here working as hard as I can within my physical limits. So do all of the other dedicated volunteers.
We take in the cats and kittens that every other shelter rejects, we rehabilitate them, spay/neuter them, love them, and find them homes. Our volunteers kill themselves making sure the shelter is clean, the cats are fed & watered and receive proper vet care.

terrible condition of cats

This is not an animal rescue. Any cat that comes in gets a bowl of food and maybe a filthy bed and litterbox. These poor animals are so sick, yet will never see a vet. West side cats claims they test and vaccinate, yet many have feline leukemia, distemper and calicivirus. You are charged for the tests and vaccinations, yet they never get them. Three yesrs after adopting my two cats from there, they are still requiring medical care as a result. I will do whatever they need. Three local veterinarians have told me they see many very ill cats come out of West side cats. They are a group of first class crooks. The animals get nond of your donations. That money is for Kimm and her 300 lb. Friends to go out to eat with. Please do not donate to these crooks!!!

The poor cats get no real medical care. Healthy cats go in there and come out near death. We adopted a cat who was so sweet, but very ill. We could not leave him there, as we were sure he would die quickly. He needed nearly $800 of veterinary care. He had pneumonia, calicivirus, three types of worms, an ear infection, ear mites, three open abcesses, fleas and ringworm. The poor cats suffer horribly in that place. There is no care, they are just thrown in a room to die. It is the equivalent of a puppy mill for cats. Awful, awful place.

My wife and I strongly support WSC for their fine efforts caring for so many lost, neglected and abandoned cats. Everyone there takes great care and gives enormous love to all of the little critters in their charge. They all do a wonderful job.

My neighbor had a beautiful and loving starving kitten dropped off on her front door. She can't keep this cat, because she can't afford to feed it. She has been layed off from her job and has 3 children. My daughter sends through PayPal money for Westside cats. She said she would gladly send 10$a month at least to help take care of this baby. The neighbor does not want this kitten to get hit by a car or for something bad to happen to it. I myself already have 2 female cats and he's a male unneutered. Can you please help? My phone # is 330719-7937.please this kitten is probably 3 months and very loving. I can't keep helping her. Thankyou for reading this Sincerely Lisa Wolgang

Awesome facility!

I would highly recommend West Side Cats to anyone wanting to adopt a cat! The cats are very well cared for and fed, they receive the best vetting, I have the same vet that they use. I've always been impressed of how clean the shelter always is. I've been there many times to donate. Two of my own cats are from WSC. Awesome shelter!

I've adopted two beautiful cats from West Side Cats. I've been in there many times to donate. I have NEVER seen the things the people below are saying. OMG, this place is AWSOME! It's clean, there were two ladies on their hands and knees scrubbing floors by hand! The cats are very well fed and cared for. The vet that they use is MY vet as well...and I love them dearly. Stop by and visit this shelter and see for yourself how wonderful West Side Cats is! I would ALWAYS recommend!

West Side Cats is a terrible shelter. My boyfriend and I adopted two cats there, I adopted an older one he adopted a kitten. They left aggressive animals in the room with disabled, blind, or deaf cats and let it bite, scratch and terrorize them. Kimm is very rude, she called me and my boyfriend dumb and animal abusers, and that we were killing our cats feeding them certain foods. Throughout the visit she insulted me, cussed, insulted my knowledge on animals, claimed that she knew more than my vet when they recommended putting my cats on certain food or certain surgical producers. The cats are also in HORRID conditions. She lies and makes us spend money on pointless things, and neglects the cats. She left a disabled cat who was bitten by dogs in with other aggressive cats who was bullying it. I'm never adopting from them again, she is so rude and has no idea what she's talking about.

The cats in this facility suffer from serious neglect. There is unassailable evidence of the total lack of even nominal health care provided to the cats there. The only thing that matters to Kimm Koocher is taking people's money. The animals get no medical care. If they are sick, they are simply left to die. Kimm makes no apologies for allowing these animals to suffer horribly. She is sadly lacking in empathy for any suffering other than her own. People who want to "dump" their cats can be sure Kimm will take them for $100+. People want to believe that this this is the right thing to do. Watch the horrible suffering these animals endure with no medical care. MONEY is all Kimm Koocher cares about. Animals are just a means to an end.

The only reason this rescue is still open is because of the internet. It is a terrible facility who do not care for the animals they take in. They are hoarders, both of cats and items. They spend donated money on toys, nice meals, and whatever else they fancy. All the while, the animals get no vaccinations, no medical care. If they are sick, they are left to die. It is an awful rescue that needs to be shut down. The internet has allowed Kimm Koocher to con people out of thousands of dollars. Use your heads, people. Google the name of the rescue, find out who runs it. Get information before you donate online. This group was called Cat Ladies Society and was raided in 2010. It is a disgrace to animal rescue to have this in this town.

This should be called the "no care" facility. The people that run this do nothing but sit and play on the computer, while cats are walking through feces filled litter boxes. They are always crying online telling horrible stories about these poor animals. Most times, the animals die because they get no care at all. Kimm Koocher thinks she is veterinarian, prescribes and compounds her own medications, experimenting on the cats. This place is a house of horrors for any cats that go in there. IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!!!!

TERRIBLE

Got our cat from west side. About 3-4 months old and weighing under 3 pounds. Brought her home with worms, conjunctivitis, fleas, a sneeze, and emaciated. Took her to Dr. EBERT for her spay and rabies vaccine. West side told us we could get her the next day (today 12/6/13) at 3:00 we call the vet in the morning they laugh and tell us to get her tomorrow morning. West side calls me at 7pm telling me they picked her up and I had one hour to get her or she went in the kitten room. At risk of infection or injury! In the snowstorm of course we rush there and just make it. Already upset we find her in another crate that was filthy. She had a scratch on her eye, a bite on her neck and the vet had taken off the claw caps that we put on for this specific reason. They pryed them off! After saying it was a great idea. They wouldn't give me the rabies tag at west side until I demanded it. West side "lost" our crate. Took about 30 minutes they bring it. We leave. Get home to realize there is feces all over the crate and folded inside my blanket. It wasn't hers. She had none on her, and it didn't even smell like hers. Got inside and she darted to the food. I will NEVER GO BACK.

We Love it here ! We are Volunteers, it can be hard work but very satisfying. We clean, fund raise, donate, foster, and have adopted. I'd tell my friend... you need some kitties :) or come on down and help out, we can always use more volunteers!!

My Daughter and I have volunteered here since March of 2013, I spend ALOT of time working with the people and the animals, more than 20 hours a week. I find the reviews I've read to be vindictive ! I have witnessed first hand being threatened by an ex volunteer who was asked to return the cat they adopted as reports from neighbors and a home visit found things not up to our standards. I also witnessed someone get upset over being denied an adoption as they wanted to place a 2 month old kitten outside to live.. I guess if you didn't have the best interest of the cat or kitten in mind you would find the staff unfriendly because everyone I volunteer with LOVES the animals !
