Boardman Local School District is one of the leading providers of primary education in the United States. A centralized school system, Boardman enrolls more than 5,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. Located in Youngstown, Ohio, the school district has been operational for more than 70 years, and comprises over 15 elementary, middle and high schools, and special education centers. Approved by the North Central Association and Ohio State Board of Education, it employs more than 100 traditional and special education teachers, social workers, paraprofessionals, guidance counselors, night custodians, and administrative and support staff. Boardman s students participate in various programs, including recycling program, Thanksgiving food drive, operation Christmas child, eagle choir, student and soldier pen pals, tsunami relief fund, and student cancer fund. The district also offers the Tribes curriculum, class- and grade-level team newsletters, informed eagle electronic building resources, Internet software programs, family activity nights, parent informational meetings, reading and mathematics groups, and vocal and instrumental music programs.
