Established in 1935, the Suffolk County Board of Elections is a bipartisan agency that is governed by the Suffolk County Government in New York. It is responsible for the electoral process that includes voter registration and announcement of election results. The board encourages voter participation, administers fair and accurate elections, regulates disclosure and limitation, and protects the rights of voters. It also supports the laws and regulations that govern elections, as well as advocates proper campaign practices in accordance with the Fair Campaign Code. The Suffolk County Board of Elections additionally preserves the voters' confidence in the democratic process. It is a part of the New York State Board of Elections.
