Barrows Hardware never ceases to amaze me. Its abundant inventory and selection is a rare find today. I can honestly say, that in my recent experience in search of a hard to find product, the "big box" home improvement stores cannot compete with Barrows, when it comes down to finding a variety of lighting replacement parts...parts that otherwise may have to be special ordered or carried in stock by a retail supplier who is usually located several miles away from my home.



I was in desperate need of a keyless socket for my dining room light fixture. The socket had to be a certain height and model. Since I purchased the lighting fixture from a home improvement store, otherwise known as “the big BLUE box”, I went there in search of finding the part. After waiting almost 20 minutes for an associate to help me, I was told the part wasn’t carried in stock and couldn’t be special ordered by the store. Stunned to find out that the part was unavailable, I asked the associate where I could buy one. The response was, “…I don’t know…I can’t help you…” I was left hanging there without an answer and frustrated with the “effortless” attitude of the employee.



Since I had to search for the part myself, without the help of “the big BLUE box”, I called a local lighting supplier. The supplier said they didn’t carry it in stock, but could special order it for me. When I said I couldn’t wait several days for the part, they recommended "Barrows Hardware". Without reluctance, the supplier admitted to me that they purchase lighting replacement parts from Barrows when they need a part quickly. Can you believe it? I called Barrows and the employee who answered the phone was quick to verify that the part I was looking for was in stock. I felt like I won the lottery! A treasure chest it is...and just a 5 minute drive from my home! Wow...thank you…“Barrows Hardware” for not following in the footsteps of the “big box” home improvement stores! I appreciate your superior customer service and the wide variety of in stock products you provide your customers!
