Established in 1954, The Homestead Group, formerly known as The Arc of Northern Rhode Island, is a nonprofit organization. It supports and serves more than 1,000 men, women and children with development disabilities. The organization employs a staff of clinicians, service coordinators, language pathologists and physical therapists. The Homestead Group develops and implements several residential, independent living, and children and family services program. It also provides treatment for the development of behavioral, communication, social and functional skills. In addition, the organization provides behavior assessment and transition planning services. It also conducts various early intervention and individualized support programs. The Homestead Group is located in Woonsocket, R.I.
