Anyone looking to board their fur baby, I highly recommend The Pet Hotel! They kept my cat Luna on two occasions now- over my honeymoon and again for Thanksgiving while I was out of town. Boarding Luna gave me a lot of anxiety. This place has gone above and beyond to make sure she has a pleasant, easy experience. They are also easy to get ahold of, and give me updates on how Luna is doing, which greatly eases my worried mind while I'm away. They let me bring in her favorite foods, treats, and toys, and they are very thorough in the details of her care. If I had to criticize anything, it would be the size of the housing condo. However, if there are extra condos available (which there usually are), they open them up to Luna's condo so she has more condo space to enjoy! When I pick her up, her food dish is always cleaned, and they even washed her blanket. Luna responds well to them, quickly greeting her caretakers for love and affection. Luna is very particular around other people, and doesnt trust easy, so this speaks volumes to me. Nothing but good vibes from this place from staff and my Luna! There is a vet on sight to care for your baby too!

PS- their dog services are exceptional as well from what I've seen from being there. The dogs are always so happy, get playtime and bath time, etc.

I nvr had a problem b4 this visit.
1) First & foremost my dog LOST 6 LBS in 6 days (53 to 47) I understand dogs may not eat (it's never been a problem before). I do, however, expect the caretaker to notice and to inform me so we can find a way to rectify it. I was never informed NOR was it CHARTED. I called to find out how she was eating & taking her pills & was told nothing was written in her chart so it must be going well (!) She was also on meds to be given with a full meal. I was told at check in that they understood this. If the pills weren't given with a full meal she would have an upset stomach, which had to have happened. I left PB to give the pills w/ so they didn't have to shove the pills down her throat as well.
2) When I walked the dogs to the backdoor when dropping them off I was smacked in the face with the smell of urine and poo coming from their rooms.
3) Both dogs were not done w their baths. I had even called & asked what time I told them to confirm. They were extremely wet. They had 2 get dried again. I noticed after I got home that their nails weren't trimmed. I called and was told if they weren't done to my satisfaction... They weren't done at all, it was apparent. I would have to bring them back.
4) I wasn't given everything at pick up. Had to ask for the meds, then had to ask for something else. If I hadn't checked, that would be something else I would have had to go back for. That & nails.
5) I took 2 dog food bags w their names for both dogs. I have always gotten them back empty or not. This time they poured all the food in the dogs bag that eats everything. I noticed it was A LOT of food which either means that they just threw her food in his bag during their stay or they had poured ALL of her leftover food into his bag which doesn't make sense. Why would you not just leave her food in her bag? Leave the food in the bags I brought them in. I obviously did that for a reason.

After I got home was when I really noticed how bony she was, ribs, spine protruding.. didn't seem that spunky. I also saw that most of the PB was left. I never got an answer other then she did fine with her pills- what does that mean! It was apparent the PB wasn't used. So how did she get the pills? I called PH immediately for answers from someone who took care of my dog. The receptionist said ok. Then someone else got on and just said hello, without introducing herself. I found out it was the mgr which surprised me because I would've expected her to say who she was & that she was the mgr since it became apparent she knew why I was calling. She said she would ask the caretakers for me. I got the same answers. She didn't maybe eat all of her food at once but would eventually, or leave some but would eat it all for the most part. This can't be true, she lost 6lbs! 6 servings of food was in the bag they gave me. I know my other dog ate all of his food, he never leaves anything. This was DAYS that went by that food would obviously be left in her bowl that NO ONE felt it important enough or cared enough about her to chart it or call me so we could try another food PLUS the fact that she wasn't getting enough food to take her meds. I have no words :( The mgr said she can't take care of all the animals so she doesn't know what goes on with them.... I never got an apology or she will do everything she can to see that this doesn't happen again. Nothing that made me feel she cared that this happened and it would be rectified immediately. She agreed it was a lot of weight.... Yep, sure was. She said she would address it in a meeting the next week. What about any dogs that it could be happening to now?
I normally don't write reviews but this was just too important to not let others know so they can make an informed decision. I took my dog to the vet the next day. It has been long road for her since she is an older dog but she has just now gotten back to being her healthy self and eating normally again and I feel like I can address it.

We could not be happier with the level of care and customer service The Pet Hotel provides. We were happy with our old place and were not looking to switch but for the last holiday our hospital was full. After the experience we had with The Pet Hotel we realize we should have tried them sooner. Our dog is older and needs extra attention and The Pet Hotel was happy to accomodate him. He is on several meds several times a day and there was no extra charge. We also asked for him to go out several extra times a day and they did not charge us for that either. Do not hesitate to give them a try. Your dog will be in great hands. Keep up the GREAT work!

We take our two labs Mork and Mindy to The Pet Hotel and would never think of going somewhere else. The staff is great and we are comfortable having our dogs in a social environment with other dogs. If the alternative is a chain link cage, no thank you. It is obvious The Pet Hotel takes great pride in their staff and facility. Thank you for taking such great care of our dogs.

The Pet Hotel far exceeds my expectations for a boarding facility. The staff is extremely nice, the facility is cleaner than a hospital and I know my dog Samantha is well taken care of. She gets to interact with the other dogs in the small group and is not kept in a cage all day like when we use to take her to our vet. I would tell everyone that The Pet Hotel is the place to take your dog!

My friends dog had a puncture ...

My friends dog had a puncture wound to her neck after a week of boarding and they ignored it. When she complained they continued to deny it even though a Doctor said her dog had a puncture wound.

I tried to take my dog and was told they were too busy and could not take her. They never told me that i needed to make an appointment and i was one of their first clients. So much for repeat service.

Not happy with their customer service.

Ms Lavette, we really enjoy having Jada join us for playcare at The Pet Hotel. I understand your frustration showing up with Jada expecting to be able to leave her for playcare and us not having an open suite. While we dont require reservations, during busy holidays such as Fall Break, reservations are encouraged to save a spot for all of our guests. Unlike many facilities, all of our boarders and playcare dogs have their own private suite for downtime. If there is anything I can ever do for you please do not hesitate to call. Thank you Terry

Stay AWAY unless you're willin...

Revised: The actual owner contacted me a few days later to apologize and try to make it right. That's all one can ask for, and I appreciate it. We may give them another chance. We understand things happen... it was simply the way the managers handled it that we didn't appreciate. The owner may have won us back. Upped them to 3 stars.

ORIGINAL: Stay AWAY unless you're willing to pay for the top tier package AND pay for a bath!! We've used them twice and the 2nd time they told us our dog must not be trained because she had accidents in her kennel and smells of urine. She smelled HORRIBLE! One of the managers said, "That's why we recommend baths before you pick them up"!!! They kept her the weekend before and this did not happen. My wife called today and THEN they told her that she did the same thing the last time she was there and they gave her a free bath. Note that they didn't tell ME that when I was picking her up and telling them how upset I was. There's no way they gave her a bath the first time because she smelled like sweaty dog. We've kenneled our dog many times with similar "3 star" kinds of service (let out 3 times a day) and this has never happened. SOMEONE is not taking these dogs out when they say they are is what I think. So upset... we will never go there again nor will we EVER recommend them.
