On Saturday June 25, 2011, I went to Cascada restaurant located at 53-22 Roosevelt Ave., Queens, NY to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The place has decent food and the environment is not bad. However, when I asked for the check I noticed the bill was too big, so I asked for the menu again to compare the prices and to my surprise the prices were completely different than the ones indicated on the menu. I couldn’t believe how off the prices were. I was charged $5.00 for a can of soda and the same for a bottle of water (when the menu indicated $2.00 per item).



I asked for the manager to obtain an explanation and “the manager” just said that prices change at night time. This is complete and utter false advertisement. No where on the menu nor upon arrival did anyone mention an increase in prices at night. On top of this, on the entrance of the restaurant there is a sign that indicates they accept credit cards but when I went to pay, the place accepts credit card, they refused to accept. They claim that once the prices change, they only take cash, despite the credit card display at the door. Their excuse was that their machine was broken. I really think this is an abuse of consumers. So, be aware of the scam and shameful restaurant practices. It is a shame that a place with decent food and a nice environment has this type of behavior to get more money from the customers. Please don’t give this place your business.
