STEER CLEAR!

Before purchasing our vehicle, we searched for reviews. Although limited, It's important to take into consideration the negative reviews. As our saleswoman requested we rate Dancy Automotive as we pulled off the lot with our new car. (Excited & happy of course, a great time to brag about the experience!)

Jackie was our saleswoman.

The dealership was quiet, but comfortable.

We were interested in a vehicle we found online which showed a great price. When we asked about it, we were told there was a typo on the website & it was supposed to be thousands more.

No big deal. So we were shown a 2006 Mercedes E350.

August 14th, 2013; My partner & I signed a contract For a 2006 Mercedes Benz e350.

We never received an idea of a monthly payment until we sat down in Tyrone Hill's office, in the finance department.

We were given our monthly payment which wasn't extraordinary, but we still requested a breakdown of the total figure.

These were supposed to be our actual numbers, as I documented them before coming back for lending approval.

Vehicle price: $11,969 (-loyalty fee, extra $795 or so for new customers)

$12,816 agreed price prior to contract

-$1,000 deposit.

We expected to pay $11,816 + DMV & tax.

We were advised by Tyrone Hill that Gateway One Bank, The financing company charged us a $1,900 bank fee. Tyrone had made a correction Immediately following once the numbers did not add up, that it was actually a $2,500 bank fee. wow! My partner is a new buyer, so we figured... It's possible.

After a day or so, The fee felt more & more extreme so we made a call. After contacting Gateway One bank, we confirmed that they do not charge a bank fee.

When we presented this to The GM, John, he advised us that we are actually paying $2,500 in GAP premium. I've financed vehicles time & time again, always purchasing GAP & never paid more than $250. John was extremely rude & states Tyrone's been doing this for years. He insisted we sit down with him.

This time we recorded the conversation.

Tyrone stated that he never mentioned a bank fee, so surprising enough, my partner & I were hearing things that day.

Of course. Because now he was caught in a lie.

Tyrone stated that $2800 was paid to the GAP provider as a "premium". So the fee was not $1,900, not $2,500... But now $2,800.

So we left & contacted GAP.

After contacting Virginia Surety, it has been concluded that the Vehicle identification number nor our names were in their database.

We were advised by 3 representatives from Virginia Surety, on 3 separate occasions that Virginia Surety has not received payment. The company stated that we would have signed & received a copy of our contract with an explanation of benefits if such premium was purchased. Were talking $2,800 now. Not the original $145 GAP fee which was listed on the contract.

Tyrone & the general manager were presented with this information and stated that he would email Or fax the GAP contract. It took 5 weeks and several unreturned calls & emails that we received a certificated that was dated by Virginia surety the day we received it.

We believe there was never a GAP contract. We did pay a $145 gap fee which is about average & listed on the contract.

Furthermore, we have an unresolved electrical problem, clunking when steering (which we haven't presented because of the unsuccessful resolution of everything so far) & an empty promise of a cracked tail lens replacement. The electrical problem & tail lens were brought to their attention week 1 after sale, in which the GM John was very rude and abrupt. He insisted they could not find a problem, but the problem is obvious & will ultimately result in an expensive repair.

Steer clear from this dealership.

Dancy Automotive is conducting unethical business. This information will be submitted to the better business bureau.
