Our kitchen Plus renovation was a huge success. From the beginning of design, cabinet selection, demolition, installation, and innovative improvement recommendations, R J Fisher was superior in every aspect. The sub contractors including carpentry, electrical, painting, tile, plumbing/gas, were extremely knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Mr Fisher is a magician in integrating and scheduling his workforce and subcontractors to include appliance delivery in a very efficient manner and was always available to discuss changes to the original design plans. The painter put the finishing touches of the project with the critical eye of R J Fisher ensuring all was completed.

The absolute best in the business. We chose RJ Fisher after our daughter said we needed to look at an addition on a neighbor's house in Montclair and find out who did it. We checked it out and found the contractor was RJ Fisher. What we saw was so nice we contacted him and hired him. From start to finish, everything involved for our project was done professionally, knowledgeably, and efficiently. RJ has been in the business for many years and knows all the ins and outs and code requirements. He arranged and coordinated all inspections with the county. The final result for what we had done was amazing. Everyone who has walked into our house since this was done says "Wow" as soon as they walk in. You cannot go wrong with RJ Fisher. His crew is professional, friendly, hard working, knowledgable, and efficient. As another plus, RJ often comes by with Stetson, his cool little dog.

We now have the most beautiful and well-made deck and screened porch I could imagine. The materials used, the workmanship, and the attention to detail is the best I have seen after many other construction projects. Rick kept us fully informed throughout the process, another quality that can't be underestimated. I am a happy customer signing up for additional work--a stamped concrete patio with Rick.

We feel like we hit the contractor jackpot! Rick is very competitively priced but with superior quality workmanship. He and his crew finished our basement- built 3 rooms with closets, a bathroom, utility closet, and main living space. He ran cable and plumbed for a future bar. I asked him to match all the details of our main floors so it would fit seamlessly in with the rest of the home and not feel like a basement- he hit it out of the park. He matched our window/door trims and all of the crown molding. It all looks fantastic!



I also gave him a picture of a bathroom that inspired me and he crafted one that looks amazing- modern tile and finishes are right out of HGTV.



He is very responsive, professional, visits the site constantly to make sure work is on schedule and up to par, and very efficient- it took less than 4 weeks to complete.



You cannot go wrong with Before and After Home Improvement- he will be our go to contractor from here on out.

Rick is one of the most conscientious contractors that I have ever met. I was really losing faith in general contractors to do my work before Rick came along and provided a fair quote for a considerable amount of work. His skill and expertise led him to recommend creative and inexpensive solutions to repair my screened porch and old addition. Also, he created the most elegant deck that my wife and I could imagine. After browsing through a lot of different contractors, My Wife and I decided to go with Rick and his crew and I can’t express how pleased we are that we did! Rick was extremely helpful - due to some extenuating circumstances, I ended up with 2 days to choose a deck builder. Out of 3 companies I called, Rick was on my doorstep for an estimate before the others even called back. His price was fair, the workmanship expert, and he even worked with me long distance while I was out of town for a couple months for work, so I missed most of the actual construction. I now have a beautiful deck and screened porch and love it! The only negative I would say is that there were lots of nails left in the yard that I ended up cleaning up out of concern for kids and pets. But I was otherwise thoroughly impressed and would absolutely use Rick again for any future projects.

As a Customer Service Manager, I seldom write reviews. However, this time I am the customer and felt this is certainly the time to write one.

Recently, we decided to build a screened in porch directly off the back of the house. After interviewing several contractors, we decided to go with RJ Fisher Construction Co.

Rick Fisher came out for his inital inspection after normal business hours. Before entering our house, he immediately removed his shoes, which showed respect for both the homeowner and the house. Rick is a very calm, customer service oriented person. He gave us suggestions, based on his experience. Over a 1 month span, we went from a screened in porch to a full 4 season sunroom/addition, measuring 16x20.

Rick & his marvelous crew did everything from digging out the area for a concrete slab (complete with footers) to putting in a 12' cathedral ceiling. He stamped & colored the new concrete with a wood pattern complete with nail heads, replaced our sliding glass door with French doors, replaced a 2nd story window to make way for the new roof, and replaced the damaged grass with topsoil & grass seed. We also added a 10 x 12 patio with the same wood grain finish. Several of our neighbors have been by to look at the addition. One couple came in through the back yard & did not want to enter the sunroom because their shoes were wet. They didn't want the new "wood" to get wet. They were shocked to find out the "wood" was concrete. The gentleman even got down on his hands & knees to feel the floor. How is that for a quality job?

Colin -- Rick and his crew did a great job replacing the rear deck on our 1961 home. It was a difficult job with beams that were imbedded in the house. Rick figured out how best to make the new deck work. We used to have a canvas cover on the old deck. Rick gave us an innovating solution that continued the existing roof line to create a hard roof covered deck. No more bouncing snow off the canvas in the middle of the night. Rick does what he says he will do and if it is not right he will make it right. You can count on it.

Additionally, we had Rick and his crew pour a 200 sqft stamped concrete patio and paint the exterior of our home. This company went above and beyond what I've seen from any other contractor I've worked with. Most importantly, Rick was at my home every day work was conducted by his crew. We suffered a horrific loss due to flooding to our home last year. We lost our two level deck during the remediation. After a year we selected Rick to help us return our home to it's former grandeur. Even though we're just completing the first phase our back yard is better than before with two stamped concrete patios including new walkways to/from our driveway and our swimming pool. Rick has a hands on style supervising the details and follow-up, His prices were competitive and his flexibility in phasing the work made it easy on our budget.

The plain and simple fact of the matter is that my wife and I could not be happier with RJ Fisher Construction Company. Rick and his crew built a fairly sizable multi-level deck on our house and absolutely knocked it out of the park. We don’t have a single negative to share…not with the price, process, finished product, or any other facet of the project.



PRICE – We obtained several quotes from companies both large and small. Rick’s was the most competitive, although that’s not the reason we hired him. It was clear from our conversations that Rick simply knew what he was doing and would do it right…all for a fair price.



PROCESS – The entire process went off without a hitch. It was quite remarkable considering our prior experiences with contractors in this area. Skip, Mark, Steve, and the rest of the crew operate like a well-oiled machine, but do so without haste and carelessness. Moreover, Rick was personally on site almost daily to ensure the job was being done according to his (high) standards.



FINISHED PRODUCT – Wow! It is absolutely beautiful. The deck is all-composite (Fiberon) with PVC railings and aluminum spindles. Everything is level, cut cleanly, assembled properly, and the crew didn’t depart until the entire deck was cleaned and detailed. In addition to the deck, Rick’s team gutted our existing screened-in porch and gave it an overhaul so it would tie into the new structure. It looks amazing. But beyond looks, the quality of the materials and quality of the craftsmanship is top-notch.



TIMELINE – One of the things we appreciated most about Rick is that he would not start our deck until he finished his previous project. He told us right up front that once his crew arrives, they will not leave until the job is finished. That proved to be absolutely true. For 4 straight weeks, the crew showed up to our house in full force every single weekday until the job was complete.



To close, my wife and I have found our “go-to” contractor in RJ Fisher. There is some other work around our house that we will only hire Rick to complete now that we’ve experienced what it’s like to be treated fairly and have work done right the first time. Our recommendation could not be stronger.

RJ Fisher Construction has ben a Fiberon customer for years and we have never had a single complaint about his work. I highly recommend Rick Fisher and his team at RJ Fisher Construction. Rick is extremely talented but most importantly, he says what he can do and then does it. He has a great crew and the finished product is first rate. I worked with RJ Fisher to build a house 10 years ago. They did all of the carpentry, much of the tile work, and several other parts of the job. All of the work was completed efficiently and with extremely high quality. Other subcontractors on the job praised the work that Rick’s team did. As with all projects of this size, issues came up but Rick was great to work with and we remained friends through the entire project and afterwards.



When I called Rick to build a deck for us this spring, he was here the next day to look at the site and gave me a hand drawn plan and price quote before he left. If you have ever tried to get work done at your house, you probably know how hard it is to get a call back in a timely manner, much less a quote. He had several great suggestions to make the deck prettier more usable. He gave me a start date and said it would take a week and a half to complete – he was on target for both.



During deck construction Rick’s team was here on time and cleaned up before leaving each day. They worked swiftly and were friendly to my family, our dog, and the neighbors. The finished product is beautiful and low maintenance with the composite decking, rail and lighting systems Rick suggested. There are many unexpected extras that enhance the finished product. We were doing a bunch of landscaping at the same time and the owner of the landscape company said he had never seen nicer workmanship on a deck.



Once again, a pleasure to work with Rick!

Recently my parents experienced severe water damage to their condo. A ruptured hot water heater in the unit above them forced them out of their home at 4:00 in the morning. We called Mr. Fisher and he arrived to evaluate the damage within a couple hours of the call. In fact a crew began working to correct the issue the very same day. With the extent of damage imparted to their home our family fully expected that repairs would require well over a month to complete. When we explained to Rick that our parents are nearly 80 years old and both disabled he immediately devoted additional manpower and resources to the restoration. Amazingly Rick and his team managed to finish the work and return my parents to their home in less than 10 days. Thank you, thank you , thank you Mr. Fisher for all that you have done to help my family. My parents are now back in the comfort of their own home and their house looks better now than when it was new. Mr. Fisher thank you for going "above and beyond", we owe you a huge debt of gratitude for the wonderful work you performed for us.
