Based off of my experience, I would definitely recommend going elsewhere. I was not impressed or satisfied with my visit with Dr. David Ramsay. After my initial visit due to significant intestinal concerns, he only asked the most basic questions, did not do a clinical evaluation, and jumped straight to ordering tests. Although some tests are needed to diagnose, how can he develop a professional opinion to which tests need to be done without a clinical evaluation first? Also, the chart notes that he documented and sent with me were inaccurate (based off of my symptoms and our conversation) and made it clear to me that he lacks the ability to listen. About a month after seeking a 2nd opinion, I received a dismissal letter from Dr. Ramsay. Although I was not offended by this as I would never return to him regardless, this shows his poor character and poor quality as a provider as I never even received follow up calls from him in regards to my labs when requested from my initial visit.

I drive from Durham, NC to go to Digestive Health Specialist. This group of Doctors, Nurses, Office staff are amazing!!!!! If you want a practice that cares and goes beyond their expected duties then you will want to give them a try. I have been going here for over 15 years and would not change a thing.

After months of being ill with no answers, there does not seem to be any sense of urgency to find out why I am sick. No efforts as far as we know to keep searching for answers while I haven't been able to eat for months and have severe gastro problems. Very disappointing when my doctor needs test results and consult and our digestive health dr is golfing.

Digestive Health Specialists is the best medical practice in town. I went to them for a screening colonoscopy. They have the friendlist staff. They make you feel welcome and I sensed a geniue sense of care and concern from everyone I came in contact with. They are very technologically advance with a patient portal and a really cool check in Pad!!! I would highly recommend them.

I recently turned 50 and was dreading the thought of a colonoscopy. My family doctor recommended Digestive Health Specialists and so did several friends. I can see why. My first visit was with a nurse to review my medical history, hear about what was involved with prepping for a colon and also understand any financial and insurance issues. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield so I was pleased to find out that because Digestive Health does the procedure in the office I would only owe my $40.00 copay. I saw Dr. Sears on the day of the procedure, he was very thorough in answering my questions and also explaining things to my wife after the procedure. The prep was a little difficult but not to bad. Digestive Health recommends a mixture of Miralax and Gatorade which didn't taste to bad. The procedure was a breeze, they put me to sleep and I didn't feel and thing. When I woke up I thought they hadn't even started. The nurses were all very friendly and really put me to ease prior to the procedure. As for the procedure, they did find a couple of things they called polyps. I got a follow up letter from Dr. Sears several days latter explaining that the polyps were not anything serious and that while they might have turned into cancer I didn't have to worry now they were found and removed. He recommended that I have another procedure in 10 years as I don't have anyone else in my family that has ever ha colon cancer. Would highly recommend Digestive Health Specialists. Most importantly, I would encourage everyone to get screened for colon cancer. It is really not that bad.
