Do not use Groove Jet Salon for your wedding party hair and makeup! We used then for my daughter’s wedding and it was absolute WORST experience we have ever had at a salon. All hair wasn’t curled or styled correctly and makeup was awful as well! Everything had to be completely redone before the ceremony. I was even burned with a curling iron on the side of my face on my daughter’s wedding day! Not to mention, their prices are exorbitant, they charged $75 + $15 forced gratuity for our 6 year old flower girl! We spoke to the “owner” on the day of the fiasco but, she did nothing. We then contacted them after and they have proceeded to act very unprofessionally and have done NOTHING to try to make things right. Stay Away from Groove Jet!!

I was supposed to travel to Wilmington for my grand daughter's wedding on 9/10. I have many health issues, am on oxygen, and was stricken with pneumonia just days before I was to go. I was so disappointed that I could not make the trip. I have since seen pictures and talked with everyone and heard it was wonderful. What I heard was horrible was the experience my grand daughter, my daughter, and several of the other ladies in the wedding party endured. Apparently the stylists did a terrible job, in fact burning my daughters face. When my daughter went to the counter, a woman who identified herself as the owner said that the ladies should tell the stylists what was wrong. They did, and their hair was redone wrong. Fortunately my daughter didn't have her face burned a second time. Any way, when all was said and done, and even though they were dissatisfied, their bill included a charge for me, another young lady who could not go, AND a 20% gratuity. Now I'm an old lady and I don't know much, but I know a gratuity is given for a job well done. Their website says that a same day cancellation carries a $20 charge, not a full price + 20% charge. My daughter and grand daughter have tried contacting the owner who will not respond. The manager of the store has offered $22 and NO APOLOGY for having had a stylist burn my daughter. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Shame, shame, shame. DON'T GO THERE!!!!

It was the day of my daughters wedding (which was beautiful, and went off without a hitch in no small part due to Dayma and her girls at Dia Mia Designs) My daughter, my wife, and other ladies in the wedding party went for their pre-ceremony hair and/or make-up. Two ladies were unavoidably unable to be at the wedding, yet they were still added to the bill. All of the ladies hair had to be done over, and still wasn't right. My wife had her face burned by the "stylist" who botched her hair twice. As if all that wasn't enough, when it came time to pay the bill, there was a FORCED 20% gratuity added!! My wife did not want to make a scene and stress out our daughter, so she bit her tongue, and paid. She has since contacted the salon. The owner refuses to contact her back, The manager acts uncaring and unsympathetic and unhelpful AND has yet to apologize for my wife's face having been burned, . I guess it makes sense because the whole experience left ALL the ladies feeling as if they were burned! DO NOT GO HERE!!!
