Do not use Apria Healthcare!

There is a local phone number and office, but if you call the phone call is routed to a centralized Customer Service representative somewhere else. Want to talk to someone in the Wilmington, NC office? Drive there and walk in the door because you can not call them on the phone.

I needed a new Bi-PAP machine and waited 2 months before ditching them and going with another company. Their excuse was constantly that they were waiting for insurance company approval. But I called the insurance company and got found out it had been approved. I called Apria back and gave them the insurance tracking number. The lady said she would look into it and call me back within 30 minutes. I waited 2 hours and drove there. The guy there saw in the computer system that the lady had tried to call my cell phone, but I had not answered. So then she called my secondary number and someone answered and hung up on her. The secondary number is my wife's cell phone, and neither of our phones had a record of incoming calls during this time. The lady lied about trying to get back up with me. I ditched Apria and went with another company. I have never seen such gross incompetence and lack of service, much less the issue of the lies about trying to contact me.

Don't ever use this company! The office site is not really easy to find, everything is done by phone so they have minimal staff, and billing has been outsourced to some foreign country like Pakistan or India. Customer service was poor, billing was bullyish. Billing wasn't reasonable in prices or accomodation. I had a home oxygen generator for 3 months. Apria called me, some guy with an Indian accent that was difficult to understand. They said I owed them $315.00 that my insurance didn't cover. I paid that and the employee stated, "That is it, and our accounts are square with you." Today, some 2 months later, I get another phone call from an Indian guy, on my work phone, stating that I owed them another $475.00. I had an oxgen generator for 3 months, and I owe 800 dollars? I highly doubt the machine cost that much to buy. This company is obviously in the BUSINESS of profit, not patient care. The fact that they have outsourced their bill collections to India, and have no real office per se are highly indicative of that. If you need CPAP or home oxygen, shop elsewhere, this company is miserable!!!!!!! I would have much rather rated them "0" stars, because there are no redeeming qualities to this sess pool of a company.
