Established in 1867, Wilmington & Western Railroad operates several steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars and cabooses. It offers various charter and rental services for group events. The railroad also provides stations on rent that features parking lot, air conditioning systems, food service areas, folding chairs and tables, restrooms and outdoor picnic areas. Wilmington & Western Railroad has parlor cars that are equipped with hardwood interior, brass lighting fixtures, carpets and sound systems. It also operates a museum for children to educate heritage of railroad. Located in Wilmington, Del., Wilmington & Western Railroad is owned and operated by Historic Red Clay Valley, which is a nonprofit organization.
