Horizon LFG, a wholly owned subsidiary of National Fuel Gas Company, is a landfill gas business. It operates Horizon Power, which specializes in the development and acquisition of unregulated energy assets, including electricity generation facilities that utilize fossil fuels and landfill gas. Horizon Power co-owns Energy Systems North East, a more than 80-megawatt natural gas-fired facility. It also has co-ownerships in several projects, including Seneca Energy II, Ontario County and Model City Energy in New York. Horizon LFG additionally operates Toro Partners, which owns over five short-distance pipeline companies that purchase, process, transport and resell landfill gas to customers in Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio. Toro Partners clients include Sunoco, General Motors Corporation, and General Electric Company.
