This is the worst place you can take a poor animal! I took my dogs there for daycare and training. They were learning nothing and the trainer always had an excuse like they were unruly or wouldn't obey (Uh, that's why they are there, duh!). But yesterday another dog challenged one of mine and bit him in the snout. They told me there was a fight but neglected to tell me my dog was bit. When I got home I fed my dogs and they took a nap. When they woke up I noticed that one had a raised/swollen spot on his snout. I looked closer and there was blood and a hole. Then my other dog started acting very peculiar. He seemed to be scared out of his wits. When I would open the back door for them to go out to potty and play, he cowered in the corner of the room and refused to go out...even for a treat! So now I have one dog healing from an attack and another who is afraid of his shadow and has never acted like this before. I talked to the vet (can't remember her name darnit) who came on the phone in a loud and commanding voice as to try to intimidate me (no luck there) and she said my dog was the aggressor in the fight. She also said we were ONE visit past the refund policy, which by the way, was never given to me, and she would not make a one time exception. I think with all that happened she should have given me my money back. I only wanted a prorated portion, which at this point only looks like about half. I think that's fair. She wanted to do more training with my dogs but I am not comfortable with them going there. I am also starting a new job and cannot take time off work to go with them. She was totally uninterested in my plight. NEVER take your pet to this place!!

I recently got a new dog that I took here to get spaded. From the moment I dropped my dog off till I picked her up it was all smiles and a great environment for not only me but my dog too. I also want to say thanks to nykki for taking care of my whiny dog. I know how vocal she can be and I appreciate your patience. My new vet for life.

Thank You

I have been going to them for eight years now and get the best care for all of my animals. I had to put down my 14+ old pound puppy which they have cared for since I walked in the door. The whole staff knew it was a hard day for me, as it was for them and they were amazing. Thank you Dr Erin and Christine for taking such good care of Rilie that day. And loving and caring for my babies the way you all do. I wouldn't go any place else. Donna

Best Clinic Ever

I have been bringing my dog to Companion Animal Hospital for nearly 15 years. In that time, the doctors and staff have become like family to me. They are compassionate and caring. They are available when I need them. If you havean emergency they are there, even if you just need some reassurance over the phone. These people are great-if you're looking for your forever veterinary clinic home this is it!

I have been bringing my dogs t...

I have been bringing my dogs to Companion Animal Hospital for almost 9 years. The doctors and staff are so considerate and caring. They treat me and my dogs not like clients but just like family. My dogs are always so happy to go to the vets and the doggy daycare. Whenever I have a problem after hours they are always available. This is a great clinic!

Beware of doggie daycare

We began bringing our Great Dane to doggie daycare at CAH when he was just a few months old. At first, we were very pleased and our pup loved it. However, one day we picked up our pup and when we arrived home we realized he had cuts and puncture wounds on his hind quarters. We immediately called to ask what happened and we were told, "Oh yes...we knew. He backed into the fence. We were busy when you picked him up. Sorry." and "Yes, we have repaired the fence."

We accepted that it was a one time accident and that our dog was safe. However, within a month, he again had cuts, abrasions, and puncture wounds on his hind quarters and on his belly. This time we were told, "we're not really sure what happened." "The vet isn't here. We will have her call you." After three days of hearing nothing. I called and was told it was being investigated. After several more days of hearing nothing, I called again. This time I was able to talk to the vet. She said, "well, we really don't have enough people to work in the daycare and the gal that was working in there wasn't always doing her job." The vet was never able to explain what happened. She acted as if she was irritated about my inquiry and, at times during the conversation, even implied that maybe it was my dog's own fault that he got hurt-- maybe he was aggressive. At this point my dog was approximately 7 months old and had never shown any aggressive tendencies which the vet also acknowledged. She did say, "with so many dogs in there, some of them do get a little aggressive and we just need someone to keep a better eye on them." The vet acted as if I was making a big deal about nothing. The vet did provide antibiotics to treat my dog, and she suggested that if I wasn't comfortable leaving my dog there then I shouldn't. I was not comfortable leaving my dog there. The vet was very clear that they couldn't guarantee he wouldn't be hurt again. I had purchased a pass for the doggy daycare in advance. I was never reimbursed for the unused days even though it was at the vet's suggestion that my dog not return since they couldn't ensure his safety.

I would strongly advise against using this vet/doggie daycare.

Unfair evaluation

This is the single most caring Vet I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. They care more about your pet than their fee. Not to say they wont charge a fee or don't want to get paid eventualy but they have been so good to me and my pet. My dog had epilepsy and frequent seizures and Dr Truesdale would drop everything ( less important) to get to my dog when I would bring her in during a seizure. I have never experienced a vet who cared more. I suspect your dog was very persistant in finding its way out and managed to do so. Perhaps someone showed up while they were closed to check on the pets and feed them and your dog snuck out somehow. I realize it is thier resposability to make sure that does not happen but, sometimes strange things happen. I am so sorry about your pet. I would have been hurt beyond consule but I know this clinic cares a lot about their patients. I would be willing to bet they have never lost another pet nor had they ever lost one before yours. They also have the most incredible doggy day care. I have seen a lot of them and theirs is real cool and WELL staffed. Again I am sorry about your pet.

God Bless

boarding & Health

Over the summer Companion took care of my beagle for 9 days and I was very pleased when I picked Chocolate up. He was clean and very happy. I have used other boarding facilities and he wasn't as well kept or acted well for days. I was extremely happy with Companion's facilities and staff and I know Chocolate was very happy too.

On another note, I went in just recently for Chocolate he wasn't feeling well. They were able to see me after work. They checked him over from nose to 4 paws and sent home a prescription and he was well the next day. I was very please because he was in severe pain. So, thank you Companion Animal Hospital I appreciate your help. You are always available when Chocolate needs you.
