Dr. Steineker grew up in Wichita, Kansas. She is a graduate from Kapaun Mt. Carmel Hight School. As a teenager, her first pets included a rabbit and guinea pig. Dr. Steineker became frustrated by the lack of information regarding veterinary medicine for pocket pets at that time; she then decided to become a veterinarian in order to gain as much medical knowledge for her pets as possible. As time passed, cats and dogs were added to her family and interests in other types of animal medicine were sparked. She graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Her first job at home in Wichita was at Arapahoe Veterinary Clinic; recently Dr. Steineker provided relief work for veterinarians in the Wichita and Newton areas. Dr. Steineker is committed to caring for patients like she would want her own pets treated, and eagerly communicates options with clients so they make informed decisions regarding their pets' care. Her goal is to identify medical issues, then aid clients in developing an appropriate and feasible action plan. Dr. Steineker and husband, Charlie, have been married for 13 years; their pets include Peyton, a Labrador; Aslan, a Persian cat; Chancey Moe, a guinea pig; and 2 rabbits named Jordan and Lauren. Her hobbies include reading, cake decorating, and cooking.

I have 4 rabbits that Dr. Steineker cares for and have never had an issue with any of the staff. They have always been quick to get us in and helpful when it comes to treatment.

Very rude staff!! Asked for veterinary documents, with doctor notes. They “claimed” they don’t give those out. Are you serious!!! Don’t veterinary progress notes belong to the owners?

I've been taking my pets to Animal Health Center for over 2 years. They are caring, compassionate, always there to help. I absolutely recommend the team here.

I have never had issues with this vet. She's always been very kind and considerate of me and the fact that I have limited income. She treats my dog with respect and has never blinked an eye when he needs treatment. She gave me options on how best to tend to his chronic ear infections and made sure to give options I could afford for his treatment... including seeing for follow ups for no charge. I suggest this vet fully. I've been to some vets who didn't care, only told me the charges and didn't care about things otherwise. This has never happened at Animal Health Center of Wichita. I'd say one of the commenters didn't share the whole story, and the second was a mourning pet mommy more than anything.

I've been here twice and both times this lady has screwed me. First time she told me my puppy that already had all shots except rabies needed them all over again because he got them too young. I had another vet confirm this is total crap. Second time my dog had kennel cough she tried to simulate the cough by squeezing the throat. Nothing happened so she said he was fine. I tried to do the same thing to him when we got home and did the same thing to his throat and I was able to recreate the cough immediately. This B**** is a joke

I took my cat "OTIS" to this vet. My cat was having trouble breathing. I got there & I rushed in saying that OTIS was having trouble breathing & the vet & her employee just stood there staring at me. I then had to yell. Are you going to help me or not & the vet leisurely went to get her stethoscope, comes back and checks him over. She says he has no pulse on the back of his body and needed to be euthanized. I told her that I could not be present for that and I needed to call my husband to come. She got rude and said if I was not going to render her services that I need to get out of her establishment and pointed out the door. I asked her how much it would be and she said $80 to euthanize, $40 to walk in the door, and $40 to be in the room to watch. Who makes you pay to watch your pet be euthanized? While talking with my husband on the phone, my beloved Otis passed away in my arms. When I told her he passed she had to question me and get her stethoscope to check and all she could offer was a trash bag to put my cat in. How heartless? If you love your animal, do not take it to this cash cow. This is not my normal veterinarian, I knew Otis did not have enough time; I needed to get somewhere close.
