I'm a longtime car collector and I have restored my own classic cars for decades. Due to my age, I'm no longer able to restore my cars and have the time to enjoy them. So, I have been shopping the major restoration shops in the area to restore my Mopar, and a couple of my European beauties. I called and visited almost every shop claiming classic car restoration in Indiana. I tried to call a majority of these shops, and based on our conversations, I narrowed my list to a few potential restoration shops.

One of the shops that I would NOT consider for a complete restoration, would be the Kings Classics body shop in Whitestown Indiana. I did not venture to their shop based on our conversation on the phone. I quickly concluded that they were not a full restoration shop based on my years of experience and basic questions pertaining to a restoration. However, I did contact them first because I have seen a few cars that they have painted at local car shows and they were nicely done. However, there are many great painters in the city and this guys are not a full restoration shop.

To conclude a long search for a complete restoration establishment, I decided on two shops. I will be taking my Mopar to The Finer Details in Danville Indiana, and my Euro's are going to Classic King's Automotive in Southwest Indianapolis. Please don't confuse Classic King's Automotive, with the other guys in Whitestown Indiana.

See you all on the roads…

Contrary to the fellow below who's never set foot IN the actual shop but based a review not on work done, but a "phone call" I'll offer perspective from a person who's sent at least 15 vehicles in (customers, family, friends, and my own) for various work. King's Classics does solid quality work and is honest in pricing.

I've seen many body shop's work and King's Classics excel in tri-coat/pearl paints, etc. I've witnessed many full restorations taking place and can attest that they are 100% capable of doing full restoration work in a proper correct manner. As the shop is small (this is a good thing, IMO) and they are busy they stay backed up sometimes, but it's worth the wait. If you have a car you care about and want it done right you'll find King's to be worth your time and patience. You get what you pay for and quality takes time. If you understand that give the team at King's a call.
