In 1925, the company changed its name to Chicago Cardboard Company, reflecting its additional product range; die-cut displays, jigsaw puzzles and cardboard shirt collars. Chicago Cardboard also began manufacturing art boards for artists and picture mat boards for a small but growing market of picture framers. In the 1950 s the company became Crescent, named for the crescent moon shape often used for mat board samples. Crescent is now owned and managed by the fourth generation of the Ozmun family, with modern manufacturing facilities located in Wheeling, Ill. Crescent also has distribution warehouses in Las Vegas, Nev. and Ellwangen, Germany. Today, Crescent serves the framing, commercial art, fine art, and photography markets in the U.S. and over 100 countries worldwide.
