Awful.

That was the best word I could think of to describe my experience with Susan.

My fiance's mother and sister flew all the way from Maryland to help plan our wedding. Because of the cost of such a trip we knew this would be her only opportunity to help her daughter plan her special day. I should also mention that she made this long trip despite suffering from MS. My mother and aunt recently lost their jobs but have insisted on helping any way they can with the cost of the wedding. What better way to repay these wonderful women than by asking them to join us in picking out the most beautiful part of any wedding--the flowers.

When we walked in Susan greeted us, but her entire demeanor changed when she saw our families. She became frantic and testy, remarking numerous times that "there were not enough chairs" and this was simply not how she was used to doing business. Our moms said they didn't need chairs and would just stand and let us do our thing. Susan ignored them and continued to behave annoyed.

When she finally got around to showing us floral arrangements they were pictures on a computer, rather than in-person demos of her products and services (as most vendors had been doing for us). She interrupted the consultation because the phone rang in the other room. She then proceeded to swat me on the shoulder because I was standing in front of the door she wanted to close for privacy. She never once said "Excuse me." Our mothers had had enough. They apologized to us if their being there had caused a problem and went to go and sit in the car. When Susan returned, rather than attempt to salvage the consulation, she informed us "we could leave if we wanted to and that SHE would understand." We happily took her up on this offer.

We have since found and hired a wonderful, inventive, and WARM-hearted florist who did everything she could to make us feel welcome and that our business was important to her. And her prices were amazing and REASONABLE! Most importantly, our mothers love her! and so do we! Patty's business may not have a website bragging and name dropping celebrity clientale, but her kind and yet efficient way of doing business speaks volumes!

Susan, maybe in the future you should allow your fluffly little white who was in the office conduct your consulations! His people skills were SPOT on! You could learn a thing.

I have been using Susan's exceptional floral designs for 5 years now for all of my personal and business needs. No matter what the occasion, Susan and her excellent staff have the ability to create arraingements that are truly artistic and unique. If you demand something from a florist, and I hesitate to use this term for they are really artists using flowers as a pallet, then the only person to call is Susan!
