Collins Bar is a disgrace, they pride themselves with banners of military insignia plastered all over the walls and yet they treated me like garbage after they were done taking my money. I am a disabled combat veteran myself, even had a wounded warrior project hat that day. I took some friends because I lived right next to the place. We were just chatting having a drink and eating. The first bartender was nice, however the other bartender came in and began scolding us for no reason, (I think its because he heard me briefly speak some Spanish to one of the co-workers) They ended up making up an excuse to kick us out. No one in my group was rude or loud, However they were cursing at us telling us we don't belong there so on and so forth. So, any veterans out there reading this forget this place, its an illusion that they support us. When I tried to diffuse the situation I told the small older person "Listen we don't want any trouble, if you want us to leave we will, no problem, I am a veteran recently returned and figured this was a nice place because of all the emblems on your wall" he answered by saying he didn't give a f*** about my service I don't belong there.

There's not many places left l...

There's not many places left like this family run business with all it's warm ambiance and character. All the food is great and priced so reasonable. It's comparable to being a "CHEERS" where everybody knows your name. Obviously Ron Sinclair doesn't like the owner Bobby. Perhaps he was maybe asked to leave. Could it be sour grapes? In my experience, the people there are all friendly and nice including the owner Bobby and his daughter Melissa.

COLLINS TAVERN SHINES

I cannot believe the old Tavern still rocks it out in West Springfield. I stopped in for a quick cold one, (thay have THE coldest beer and cheapest in the area) and was awestruck at the newly established kitchen. Collins Tavern runs with the big dogs now!! A full menu of great tavern fare. They were always know for their great cold cut grinders, so I figured I would try their burger. White Hut shut your doors, there's a new BEST BURGER in town. What Collins Tavern used to mean for beer now stands for food. I now take my wife and son there on Friday nights for their delicious seafood dinners!! If you haven't been in awhile, you must stop in to Collins Tavern!!! And btw, the owners are always very nice, it's an honest family run joint.

The Collins Tavern used to be ...

The Collins Tavern used to be a great place to stop for a beer and lunch. comfortable atmosphere, goodt food and reasonable prices. However, the place seems to be going down hill of late. Owner Bobby L. spends way too much time drinking up his profits and verbally abusing his customers. Someone really needs to but a rein on this guy. He buys rounds for the bar and, after a bit he'll go into a tirade. It's like "Duck and Cover" when Bobby's buying. What's left is a bunch of drunks hanging on waiting for Bobby to buy the next round while the good and reasonable paying customers are beginning to stay away. Such a shame!! D :
