I started hearing a whining sound from one of my front wheels and a friend said it was my brakes. He referred me to Mufflers Brakes and More, where he gets all his brake work done. He said they did excellent work and gave free estimates, so I went there, but I thought the price was too high. I'd seen an ad in the Pennysaver which quoted less for a four wheel brake job than they wanted for just my fronts, so I left without getting any work done. I went to the shop with the lower price, but they said the advertised price wasn't for my make and model. They gave me two options, one higher and one lower than I'd already gotten, so I took the lower one and figured I'd done alright. Well, the new pads squealed so bad I was embarrassed to drive my car, especially in the parking garage at work. I went back to complain only to be told I should've gone for the better (more expensive) job. I wound up having it redone at Mufflers Brakes and More. No squeals. I should've listened to my friend.

I'd been driving my old Mercedes with a rotted out exhaust for months because I was sure I couldn't afford to fix it. I mean I know Mercedes parts are expensive. I did get a few estimates too and they only confirmed my fears. Then in desperation I pulled into a small local shop (Mufflers Brakes and More) that I'd passed many times and never really noticed, to see if maybe they'de be able to somehow give me a half assed temporary fix. I was a little embarassed and expected them to snicker at my admitedly neglected ride, but they treated me and my car with respect. Better than that, they gave me an estimate to fix my exhaust for less than half of the nearest estimate, and not a temporary hold your breath until it falls apart job, but a quality replacement system with a warranty! I was impressed that the owners are all brothers and pleased that they let me watch them work, which not everybody does. They were thorough and pretty quick. I only wish I'd stopped in months six ago,
