We hired McKittrick Engineering in early May because we needed a new septic system. We were told that our septic could be done by early July. We paid over $600 for soil tests. After the soil tests, we didn't hear a peep from McKittrick. He stopped answering our phone calls and would not return voicemails. All we wanted to know was whether things were progressing with the plans for the septic!

My husband and I both went to his office (on separate occasions). I was told that the soil test results would be emailed to me in a few days. It never happened.

We found a new engineer but we are still trying to get the results of the soil test so that we don't have to pay for it all over again. It is now early August. Three months have gone by and we have never seen any plans and he has stopped all communication with us.

Extremely unprofessional. I have wasted hours and hours of my life trying to deal with this. There's no excuse for this. We have given him so many opportunities to fix this so we could continue to work with him, but he doesn't seem to care.

I wish we could go back in time and avoid McKittrick Engineering.


*Edited to add that it is now September and still no response from McKittrick. We lost $620 because of him.

Loves to talk about guns & rifles, endlessly. Very quick to collect money but once you pay without approved plans he does not return your phone callS or emailS and then you will be left with an incomplete drawing with no explanation.

This person could use some training on customer relations and basic business practices.

I would not recommend this business to an enemy. He shouldn't get another project to mess up.

That review is not accurate. He does not ask to be paid until plans are done. He also has told clients that not all projects are approvable. The regulatory environment in New Jersey has rendered some properties unbuildable. As a builder, I understand the risks associated with attempting proceeding with some ideas. This guy has always fairly advised me of these risks prior to commencing.
