I love Google reviews! Based on the recommendations I saw on here, I went with Dr. Dana Yip's office when I established my kids with a Portland area dentist. I dont live near his office but it's pretty easy to get to and I've been impressed with the technology they employ and with the courteous personalities of everyone who works there.



After several pretty nerve racking cavities, I'm pretty particular with the quality of service my children receive. After 5 visits to Dr. Yip's office, I think I made the right decision.

We always have a very positive experience at this office. Dr. Yip is very gentle. He is very good at gaining kids' trust and making the dental visit fun while getting everything done. The entire staff is wonderful as well! Everyone has a smile on their face and makes you feel welcomed. I'm so happy that my pediatrician recommended this dentist so my children won't grow up with the common fear of going to the dentist. I would recommend this office to everyone.

Wonderful Experience!Dr. Yip and the staff at “The Kids Dentist” are professional, gentle, and kind. The office is completely kid friendly, from the turtles to the TV's on the ceiling. My kids have so much fun they almost forget that they are at the dentist. This is a terrific change from the normal anxiety surrounding our dental visits. Dr. Yip and staff make the experience a fun, interactive, and educational check-up. It's difficult to find a dentist that you and your kids like, but the search is over. Not only will we be returning but I would recommend Dr. Yip and “The Kids Dentist” to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist who provides excellent care and loves working with children. In response to the review aboout time. We appreciate the comment and apologize for the wait of that patient. Normally the patient would have been seen immediately by our hygiene department, but the child was "pre-cooperative" and assigned to the doctor who was working with another anxious patient. We strive to stay schedule, but sometimes children's moods vary, diapers need changing, or there are dental emergencies causing delays. We appreciate the comment and are trying to avoid scheduling anxious patients next to infants and toddlers.Usually kids prefer waiting, so they can play longer with all of our toys or gaze at our fish and lizard tanks!If keeping on schedule is a priority when scheduling your infants and toddlers, please let us know in advance. I had a 9am appointment for my one year old. I arrived at 8:50am with all my paperwork filled out. Thirty minutes later, around 9:20am, one of the dental assistants came out to ask a few questions and said the dentist would be with me shortly. At 9:35am I asked the receptionist when we would be seeing the dentist. She thought it would be soon. Finally at 9:55am after being in the waiting room for over an hour and watching 5 or 6 different children escorted back, I left. I think it is ridiculous to have someone wait an hour, especially with a one year old. First impressions are not easily forgotten.I will be finding another pediatric dentist for my one year old. One that values my time as much as I value their time.Extremely disappointed.

I have been taking my kids to see Dr. Yip for about 7 years now and he is the best! My kids don't mind going to the dentist, in fact they even look forward to it. Dr. Yip has the coolest toys for the kids to play with as they are waiting for their appointment or for their siblings to be seen. His office staff is very friendly. Dr. Yip has always respected my wishes as a parent as has never been pushy about procedures. He does a great job taking care of my kids teeth. Dr. Yip is amazing!

As a referring dentist, I can contest that the parents and the kids that I have referred are greatful to have met him and love to visit his office. For example several kids I have sent over to Dr. Yip have been fearful of the dentist but after meeting with him they get over their fears, have fun and cannot wait to go back to his office. We've tried a few pediatric dentists. but this office is definitely the best. The hygienists are very good with my 3 and 8 year old kids. Dr. Yip fixed some cavities on my son and he didn't even mind. The laughing gas, cartoons, and wonderful assistants helped a lot. They also helped my 3 yo daughter to stop sucking her thumb which was causing her teeth to get flared out. She also was starting to get small cavities between her teeth. I floss my kids teeth now and haven't run into any new dental problems so far. I love how this office tries to educate us to prevent complicated dental problems.

I would tell people to take their children here as they give personal care and don't scare the children of going to the dentist.
