Been awhile love their pizza

Love the thin pizza and homemade salad dressing! Also had a Italian pasta that is always great! Local restaurant with amazing food!

I usually go to the Tavern and they have good service and good food, but there was an incident that has changed my whole perspective on the Tavern. A manager on the 5th st Tavern by the name of Ashley B., has Blonde hair was very very rude and disrespectful toward my family and I. We originally ordered it to eat there, but decided to get it to go because she made us feel like we were not wanted there. She had told us we were being too loud and need to wait outside for our food to be prepared. We then told her to void the check because we couldn't believe how she was treating us. That right there lost the Tavern $50 tab and lost loyal customers. She proceeded to come out of the restaurant with our voided check and exchanged some foul words with my grandma and my family. Ashley told my grandmother and I quote "get the f*** in your car and leave". I will never step foot in the tavern again after the way we were treated. We are all in shock on how an employee, yet a manager of a restaurant can treat people so horrible.

I ordered a grinder, when it came it was all bread, there wasn't very much content, like meat, cheese, peppers and red sauce, very bad grinder, the server never one time came to our table to ask how the food was or if we need anything, I sent the manager a letter telling him about the grinder and lack of service, the manager never sent me a reply, we will never eat at the Tavern again, this took place in West Des Moines on 5th Street....
