I just want to start off by saying...that this will make one of numerous times Ive eaten at this restaurant..and been totally dissatisied.I myself think that the owners are wonderful people and feel guilty writing anything unflattering when it comes to their restaurant.I do acknowledge that they personally had nothing to do with my bad experience and dont hold them responsible.However..the people working for them should do a little better to uphold their restaurants name in good standing...as it reflects on their business.so..with that said...the last several times i came in...as another person commented previous...my waitress was a nightmare.she was unattentive to say the least....i had to wait forever to get any service or acknowledged at all...and when i finally did...she forgot about us after that.i had to flag down two other waitresses to even get my coffee refilled.our food was horrible to say the least.our pie we got to take home...was even worse.my wifes hamburger was completely burnt...and mine wasnt cooked the way i asked it to be...and our pie seemed like it was very old...our total bill was around 30.00...and if i based the last experience on coming back..i would never do it again.this is several times i had bad service...and i didnt address it because i just wanted to get out of there.i have no desire to make anyone feel bad...so i sucked up the loss and left..but it was totally unacceptable.this isnt the way you do business...period.if these were the people representing my restaurant...they would be fired to say the least..because it doesnt affect them...it affects the overall restaurant...and what people think of it.

We stopped in to Harland's over the Columbus Day weekend visiting the area, checking on the property we purchased and just wanted to view the fall colors. Saturday night was a busy one as the restaurant was packed. Our waitress seated us, brought coffee and water and then basically forgot about us. We sat there for over twenty minutes, watched other customers who came in after we did submit their orders, and finally, after helping ourselves to the soup and salad bar, our waitress came back ready to take our order... At this point, we had been in the restaurant for almost an hour and were totally frustrated by our experience, and informed the waitress that we wanted our check, were very disappointed in the quality of service provided and would probably never come back again. Granted, she was busy (there were only 2 waitress's working the tables) and apologized for "forgetting about us". However, previously I tried to get her attention/wave her down and she would look directly at me and move on to someone else. She apologized again and told us that our soup and salad bar bill was free (meaning she picked up the tab) and we left. The manager that night saw how busy the place was, stayed behind the cash register, and just talked w/whomever but would not come out on the floor to help.

To be fair, we've eaten in this restaurant before and had great service and the food was very good. However, to keep patrons coming back you have to provide quality service, unlike the service we received. Hire more help (especially on weekends) and fire the manager who was in charge that night as she was obviously too busy to pitch in and help her staff.

wow! i am so very sorry that your experience was so terrible. this makes me very sad. i always have 3 waitresses on on saturday nights so obviously she was the girl behind the counter (whom you thought was the manager) i am not sure why she was not taking tables (as she should have been) i since then have hired a manager for out in the dining room please give us another chance. i again am so sincerely sorry that this happened to you please email me your name and address i want the chance to make this right with you so that you feel comfortable to try us again
