Welcome to AcroSports Kids Center! We have been helping to build healthy, confident, happy kids through gymnastics since 1984. A family business, AcroSports was founded by Kay and Tom Higgins to serve the needs of area kids as well as those of their own budding gymnasts, Kristen and Amy. After 25 years, we are still a family business with both daughters working together with Kay to provide the best possible experience for parents and children. Many of our instructors are former students and we are especially proud that many of our former gymnasts are now bringing their own children to AcroSports! Our 30, 000 sq. ft., state of the art facility includes 2 separate gym areas with in-ground trampolines, foam-filled pits, 3 separate spring floors, and loads of equipment. This facility allows us to teach gymnastics and tumbling to toddlers through teens in a safe, clean, happy, FUN environment. Our AcroKids Academy is an academic pre-school program that utilizes physical activity to enhance academics and make learning fun for kids. Our new swim center offers a beautiful pool area and a spacious parent viewing area with separate climate controls so that both swimmers and spectators are comfortable. We are always looking for ways to make the AcroSports experience memorable for our customers. We also offer Awesome Fun Birthday Parties, Open Gyms, Fabulous Field Trips for groups, Parent's Night Out, Flip Flop clinics and other special events throughout the year.

Both of my children attend childcare at Acrokids! My oldest, just turned 5 and is doing back handsprings with minimal help after attending their gymnastics programs. She is also learning a great deal in their junior kindergarten class. My son, who is an infant, also loves his teachers and they are willing to help with whatever stage your baby is in. Amy, the owner and director, has always addressed any questions or concerns I have had and she has been MORE than accommodating when we have needed her to be. We plan to utilize their after school care too once we have school-agers. We have been more than happy with our experience at Acrokids.

My 4 year old son has been here since he was an infant and has always been well taken care of by all the teachers and coaches. Anytime there is any issue it is promptly addressed and I always feel he is getting the best care. I think the director is firm, fair and consistent and am glad there are policies in place and followed through with.

Pay attention to the bad reviews the management is awful probably the most unprofessional in this area. They forget you are paying them for a service. Teachers just sit around and watch the children with little to no interaction.

Great potential just poorly executed.

If I could give less than one star I would....

Not a program to put children in if you really want them to become good tumblers. Children who can't front roll are being taught to backhandspring and kids who can back tuck are working front rolls. Plain stupid. They work off lesson plans and don't advance children because they stick to what's on the paper instead of how your kid is performing.

There has never been a child c...

There has never been a child care facility that I have 100%+ confidence in the care and attention of my children! Both my children attenda Acrokids Academy and they love it! The director, Amy, is extremely attentive to my children's needs and runs a tight ship with her staff. She picks the most qualified people who will care for my children providing me with a stress-free experience! The plan is for my kids to grow up at Acrokids/Acrosports!

I've included my name to prove that there is no relation to the owners. I'm just a very satisfied and thankful mother of two!

This daycare has the potential...

This daycare has the potential to be a very good facility but the organization is severely lacking. The student to teacher ratio is probably 20-1. you have to walk through a minefield of children and toys to get to the classroom where your child is. The majority of the caregivers are very young and disorganized and are unable to provise answers to questions posed by parents. The teachers lost some personal property of my childs and the director seemed to feel that as long as that was the only issue that it shouldn't be worried about whereas I feel it shows disorganization and neglect. If an instructor can't keep track of a water bottle then what happens with the children? I had my daughter in a gym class and went to the facility to see if it was worthe keeping her in it and all she did the entire hour was run around and did what she pleased with no attention paid to her by the teacher. They are supposed to be open at 630 and my wife dropped our child off and there wasn't anyone in her classroom so my wife had to leave our child with the younger children classroom. I will say that Miss Pam who runs the toddlers up to 2 1/2 years old is awesome and an excellent teacher. It is a real shame that she seems to be the exception and not the norm. Needless to say I removed my child and placed in her in a smaller, better run daycare.

Having my children a little la...

Having my children a little later in life than the norm, no immediate family less than 1200 miles, and old-fashioned values make for an extremely cautious mother who doesn’t trust really anyone to care for my children, especially at such young ages of 2 and 3 years old. We started Acrokids Academy almost a year ago with our guards up but with an open mind. At this point, I thank God constantly for these amazing people in our lives. They love my children as if they were their own with patience, compassion, guidance, and knowledge. I was so worried about my son’s speech delay, but, Amy (Director) and my son’s teachers stuck right by our sides and treat my child(ren) equal to the other children. My son started as a very shy kid to a very active child who is making friends and talking! This over-cautious mom smiles every morning I drop my children off at Acrokids Academy knowing that I'm leaving my children in very competent nurturing hands without worry! My kids come home exhausted from all of the day’s activities and they only attend from 9-2 for 3 days/week…for now. I definitely recommend this facility to all parents and will keep my reviews coming as long as my children attend.

Acrosports

My children have attended Acrosports for for gymnastics for 6 years. I was thrilled when the preschool opened. My children receive a quality preschool education, with loving teachers, and have the option to take gymnastics , soccer, and swimming classes. As a former teacher, I am very impressed with this incredibly rounded preschool program!

My son loves Acrosports!

My son has attended Acrosports for almost 6 years both in the recreation classes and as a boys team member. Needless to say he loves it! The only negative I have is that in the past, communication could have been better. However I feel they are making a real effort in improving in that area . The coaches are experienced and if one does leave, the gym is serious about holding out for a coach that is good and not hiring just anybody. I have contacted management a couple of times via e-mail with concerns and have found them to be very prompt and polite in their response. The coaches seem to have a great relationship with the boys and really want them all to do their best. All in all, I have been happy with Acrosports and their coaches and appreciate all the hard work they put into coaching the boys team!

Great gym, great school, great everything!

My children attended Acrokids Academy during the summer last year, and they loved it. They still ask me every week, "When are we going back to Acrosports?" We have attended and hosted several birthday parties at Acrosports as well, including Gym and Swim parties, and both are very professionally done for an affordable price. The coaches are all very knowledgeable and skilled at working with children, and the teachers in the Academy are excellent as well. Gabi and Jan in the office are friendly and helpful, and we have greatly enjoyed our Acrosports experience.

Best Coaches In Town

I have had experiences with other gyms and this by far is the best in town. The coaches are well trained and very knowledgeable in the sport. I understand some coaches are better than others but that is with any job in this world. You get better the longer you have been there. The head coaches care very much about the gymnasts. I see many posts on facebook with how the girls interact with their coaches. They treat eachother like family. The coaches know when to joke around and have fun but also when to get serious and practice. They are always coming up with new ideas on how to learn new tricks. Whether your child is in a beginner's class or the highest level on team they all receive great training and a great experience. I have seen coaches at the gym until 10pm doing private lessons or just staying after to talk with parents. It is always clean and well kept. All in all it is a great gym for kids of all ages.
