HMW Enterprises was founded to produce basic controls for Tyco terminal applicators, and continued to grow with the computer industry. In 1974, the company was contracted to design and manufacture some of the first advanced IBM terminals for medical applications. These enhanced Model 3275 terminals included cathode ray tube, light pen, badge reader and printer. The units were later converted to microprocessor technology. HMW also provided some of the first hand machine interface solutions. The company has provided terminals, workstations and computers for oil drill platforms and petrochemical plants, as well as in many process control applications such as food and beverage plants, pharmaceutical plants, steel and heavy industry and transportation. The company was founded in 1965 and is located in Waynesboro, Penn.
