I entrusted my mom's care to Hoiisticare Hospice and they failed us both royally.

The caregiver never showed up to ready her for an outside medical appointment, and my mom had to be rushed through feeding, bathing and dressing at the last minute in very weakened condition.

No one notified me or the home so other arrangements could be made.

I accompanied my mom on the ride and she vomited the entire ride there. She passed away that evening from aspiration and shock.

Needless to say the whole thing was very traumatic.

When I called Holisticare's CEO and explained what happened, she admitted that the aide "choose to care for another patient" instead of my mom at their scheduled time. (This had been set up a week in advance.)

She also admitted fear of a lawsuit, and was most harsh in her tone with me.

Soon after, I received a letter from them saying they were cutting off the guaranteed thirteen months of bereavement aftercare in our contract and suggested I find outside support.

They apparantly waited several months to submit their bill to Medicare, and I received a receipt a year later that they paid them in full.

On the year anniversary of her death, Holisticare sent me a card saying "On this day of remembrance....just remember, we're just a phone call away".

No words to describe the hurt and pain I experienced from their "care".
