Farina's had the most excellent customer service, the employees really care. The first time I went they really took the time to find the right bike for me. I had to go back when my bike was stolen (my fault for not using a good lock) and they gave me a deal to replace the bike and gave me a ton of tips for not letting it happen again. Great company who cares.

I was in the market for a new road bike, when a friend suggested I checkout Farina's. I have lived in Belmont for 20 years and only heard of them. I'm not a racer but I ride in the Pan Mass Challenge and Best Buddies rides. To my surprise, they had the Giant bike I wanted and at the best price around. The selection of top brands and a well educated staff made my buying experience great. It turns out that they also support the local community with a . Kid's reading program. Thank you. Poor Service

They do acceptable work, but they manage their time very poorly, which means that they are completely unreliable in terms of getting things done in the time they say they will. In early December 2008, they told me it would take them 3 weeks before they could take my snowblower in for repair. This was before there had been any snowfall. The good news, they said, was that once they took it, they could turn it around quickly. It was Christmas week, but they said that despite that it shouldn't take longer than a week. In their words, it would "certainly" be finished and returned to me by New Year's Eve, after which they close the store completely to take vacation.

As it turned out, they did not get it done in time for New Years Eve, which was the day of another significant snowfall. So after making me wait 3 weeks before they even brought it in, and then sitting on it for another 10 days in their shop, they still couldn't do the job. Granted, one of the 10 days they kept it was a holiday, but with 9 days they had plenty of time. Plus, the coming of Christmas wasn't a surprise; they knew what the calendar looked like before they made their time estimate and they still couldn't get it right. They explicitly said they would get it back to me before their January vacation, but they couldn't get it done. I now have to shovel my driveway by hand while my snowblower sits in their empty shop and they enjoy a few days off.

So in short, if you can find other good repair people you should use them, because you can't count on Farina's to get things done when they say they will.

A family-run business, and conveniently located, I really wanted to like Farina's. However I've gotten poor service from them. I brought my bike in for an annual tune-up, purely preventative as it was working perfectly as it was. When I got it back, there was a grinding in either the pedals or gears that was very noticeable. I brought it back a few days later and not only couldn't/didn't they fix it, they tried to tell me that it must be something that had been present before I brought it in, not something that happened during the tune-up. They suggested that the pedals were the problem (and that they just HAPPENED to die the day I brought it in) so sold me new pedals; when that didn't fix the problem either they shrugged, didn't offer to refund the money for the pedals or the tune-up, and were unable/unwilling to do anything else to attempt to diagnose the problem. I would highly recommend going to any other repair shop.
