Excellent service and very friendly people. Being new to my Porsche they offered plenty of helpful advise on what may need to be addressed. Charge for only the time they spend on the vehicle rather than flat rate for repairs. Kept in touch throughout the work as any new potential issues were discovered and offered several options each time. These guys are extremely knowledgeable and came in below the initial estimate even after adding on a couple of items.

Must be a great place for expensive, vintage cars, but I drive a simple bmw 3 series. Last week a woman pulled out in front of me and I had to hit the curb. New tire, new rim. Still needed allignment. Took it to munks...1200 for allignment, inspection, one new bushing. got car 2 days later (had to rent for 2 days). steering wheel crooked, "spare" pieces the size of my head in the passenger seat with a bag of bolts, and an "flapping" sound from under the car at over 50 mph. called in, made appt to bring it back. brought it back. "munk" was at counter and seemed upset at how i was treated, "we'll make it right". rented another car. 2 days later, need my car to go to detroit, cant afford to rent anymore days this week and told them i had an appt in detroit today at 4. was told my car was not worked on, the allignment machine isn't right, but another car is on it anyways, we'll pay for the 2 days of renting a car, we'll give you a free detailing (also offered first time when told they didn't get to cleaning it). bottom line 1200 them + 4 days rental 280 = 1480 oop, car isnt right. gave them 2 days to make it right. I wasn't worth it, pos customer with a pos car. taking it to idol dahm to get corrected. UPDATE: According to Dahm, that'll be another 900 to "fix" Munks repair

know their stuff, but take forever, slow and expensive

expect to spend thousands and take over a month to fix

look for another source and close to your locality

Just moved to the area and nee...

Just moved to the area and needed work done on my Saab. Munk's Motors came highly recommended so I decided to give them a try. I must say that I am glad I did; professional, thorough, and very knowledgeable. They do a total inspection of your car from top to bottom. They had my Saab fixed and back on the road in no time at all. If you need any work performed on your foreign car give them a try.

This is the best repair shop I've seen in 30 years!

These guys could write a book on great customer service. I've been in the service industry my whole career and, if I built a repair shop, it would look just like this. I've spent a lot of money at Munks and have not felt like any of it was unnecessary or even a questionable expense. From the owner, Chris, to the front office team, George, Alex, & Kim, to the mechanics Rick, Dan, John, Larry and the rest, I've gotten nothing but honest, friendly advice.

They excell in looking for low-cost alternatives and have even suggested that I do some of the work myself to save money! WTF? They have even told me HOW to do the work.

They even offer free clinics on taking care of your car. Who does this these days???

Mixed review. They obviously know their stuff. They fixed my vehicle and it work great. You could save money and cut the cost by at least half by purchasing the parts yourself and having the local mechanic do it, but you're paying for the experience and done right, so it sucks my toal bill was $2,000 for wheel bearings, tie rods, drag link, sterring tightening/coupler, and brakes, but it is what it is.

The negatives and what I'd actually rate a 3.5 to 4.....is that they are a little bit perfectionists and so will give you a long laundry list of items to fix which basicaly encompasses rebuilding the entie vehicle and could cost ya $10,000 if yo u did everything. I wish they would just focus on the "A" items that need to be done NOW and/or are safety issues.

Also, there's too many people to talk to. In the end, I focused and worked with one, but initally, I was getting passed around between George, Allan, and Chris and maybe more people!

Likewise, they overbook, so we "arranged" for be to bring it in one a weekend and they'd at least check it out and test ride it on Monday. The week when by and nothing until middle of the second week! They finally didn't even start to work on it until the 3rd week and when it was finally finished (at least the work that they did)! Soo, even though it was pre-arranged to bring it in when it was my turn, even though they had parts in-stock, it took a full 3 weeks to the day to get my vehicle and this wasn't even like engine work or a body.

In the end, I would tend to use them and for major work and stuff you might not want to deal with....tie rods, CV joint, engine/trans, etc., but work you can do....wiring, body, brakes, etc....I'd just get the part and do it myself, save money, and have my vehicle ready to roll in the same day.

This is the best place to get ...

This is the best place to get your foreign car fixed. The service manager George is a very classy guy and is the most polite and knowledgeable person you will ever meet. He treats a lady like a lady. Chris, the owner, is very passionate about his shop and is all about customer service and cars. Excellent and 30 yr. + experienced mechanics. I had a lot of work done to my 12 year old Mercedes and they did a top notch job. I don't normally write reviews, but these guys took a lot of time on my car and were fair and honest and were very nice to me. I highly recommend this place. Class act.
