I would highly recommend the Samaritan House for donations. I purchased a new larger washer and didn't have use for the smaller load washer I had replaced it with and wanted to give it someone who could use it instead of just donating it to another charity which may in turn sell it, which I didn't want to have happen. I called the Samaritan House which is pretty local to me to let them know I had this item to give away and the next day two young men came by and picked it up for there grandmother who was in need of one. It wasn't sold to her, it was just a gift from one person to another using the Samaritan House as a middle man.
