Georgetown Wine & Spirits has been in existence since the late '30s. Of course, it has witnessed various owners over the years. However, the one constant is that Georgetowm Wine & Spirits has always been, and always will be, foremost, a neighborhood wine shop. Well-integrated into the community, the store has provided great customer service and a broad selection of wines, beers, and spirits for over half a century. The present owner, Andy Desai, and manager, Manuel Michalowski, are comitted to continuing this tradition of service, while keeping an eye to the future, to continuously improve our inventory, range of services, and to promote Georgetown Wine & Spirits as a premier wine & spirits store in Washington, D.C. Ankur "Andy" Desai ( Proprietor ) Andy Desai's vision for Georgetown Wine & Spirits is informed by a desire to provide the very best selection and service to his customers. Always forward looking ; he has plans to expand the range of services that the store offers to its clients ; these include: a proposed tasting room/wine library ; an expansion of the store's presence on the Web ; and more in-store promotions. Andy brings many years of experience in the wine trade, to better serve his customers. Manuel Michalowski ( Manager/Wine Buyer ) Manuel has over eight years experience in the wine trade ; three years in wine retail, followed by five years in wine wholesale. He has also worked as a wine consultant, leading wine classes, as well as conducting private wine tastings to a variety of clients, including the World Bank. He has traveled to a number of the world's wine regions to get a better understanding of the distinctive senses of place of their wines. He brings his years of experience to bear in serving Georgetown Wine & Spirits its clients.
