Dr. Elaine Ahillen is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon that specializes in the non-operative and surgical treatment of patients with disorders of the hand and upper extremity. After attending the University of Kansas for her undergraduate education, Dr. Ahillen received her M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine. She completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at the George Washington University Hospital. Subsequently, she received fellowship training in hand surgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery and fellowship training in sports medicine at TRIA Orthopaedic Center. Dr. Ahillen is dedicated to providing state of the art care for her patients with advanced techniques. Her expertise includes minimally invasive and arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, hand, wrist, and elbow as well as reconstructive surgery for traumatic and arthritic conditions of the hand and upper extremity. Dr. Ahillen is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), as well as the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Ahillen is an active community volunteer, and has a particular passion for Therapeutic Horse Riding.
