Superior Tire & Rubber Corporation is a manufacturer of solid industrial tires for forklifts, construction equipment, paving equipment, mining equipment, plant maintenance equipment and industrial applications. It manufactures industry standard tire sizes and custom engineered tires and wheels. In addition, the company manufactures track pads for paving, milling and demolition equipment. Compound choices include more than 20 rubber and polyurethane elastomers for different application. The Superior Engineered Elastomers division produces custom elastomer components for vibration control, wear parts and chopping applications. In addition, the division manufactures and markets Polar Edge polyurethane snowplow blades. Elwood Fry founded Superior Tire & Rubber in 1964. The early sales efforts were focused on retail car tire sales, recapping of tires and compression molding rubber press-on tires.
