Founded in 1961 as Applied Microfilm Company, incorporated in 1967, in the early 1990's AMC began to shift its focus from film and micro fiche to digital imaging and document management solutions, and changed its name to Applied Microimage Corporation. The company specializes in scanning, data entry, microfilm and off-site storage. It can scan paper, microfilm/microfiche and aperture cards to modern digital output and has been providing micrographic services to a wide variety of business -- engineering companies, universities, financial services firms, manufacturing companies, law firms, libraries and bioengineering companies. The company also provides scanning services on-site for sensitive files for replication, filming and storage. It has its headquarters in Waltham, Mass.
