I have had several negative experiences with customer service at this practice. Each time I attempted to make an appointment, the receptionist was unnecessarily rude. When I arrived for my appointment (on time) I was asked to sit in the waiting room, where someone would be with me shortly. I waited for almost an hour, along with about 15 other patients. Everyone in the waiting room was confused and frustrated, as no one explained that there would be an additional wait or checked in with any of us. After waiting for this extended period without explanation, I finally had to leave, as I had a child to pick up from school. Again, the receptionist was extremely rude. I understand that this may be a busy practice. However, patients should not have to suffer because of it. In a friendly and down-to-earth community like South County, such poor professionalism and blatant rudeness is unexpected and unwarranted. I will not be making another appointment with the Rhode Island Eye Institute.
