I worked at the Atruim of bellmead for three years. I can honestly say there are some staff there that care about the residents care. While working there they did have a high turn over rate. Couldn't keep Cna's mainly. You had a nurse on the evening shift on one side running great cnas off and morning shift had working not wanting to work as a team. So that ran off good Cna's. I enjoyed working there, I hear a lot of people say the Administrator and other head staff are prejudiced. I didn't see that in no one there. The Administrator can be blunt but she means well and care about every resident in that facility. You would need to get to know her in order to understand her. Yes, they are short hand but what nursing home isn't ? You would need to work in the medical field to understand the workload. Do that make not answering call lights in a timely manner right? No! Do that make anything that's a negative on patient care right? No! What this facility needs is team work and positive attitudes and less gossip. If I had to put a relative at the Atruim of bellmead I would do so. People are so quick to see all the negative and tend to miss the positive. Once again I do not work there anymore but out of a hundred percent ninety percent care and have a heart for taking care of the residents.

This is a minimal care facility, supervision at night is spotty. For instance, at times Mom would hit the help button and no one came, one even coming and moving the call button where it could not be reached. The worst is that frequently they forget to give prescribed medication, and often just do not have it. Excuse is that it just did not arrive from the pharmacy. Also, do not, do not take anything there worth more than a few bucks. A thousand dollar hearing aid disappeared. When informed, management just shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. When asked about insurance, they both looked at me as if they had never heard of such a thing. No matter what they say when going in, if something like that is lost, or more probably stolen, you will get no satisfaction from them. On the other side, my mother did survive her three month stay there, and the physical therapy people did seem to try and do a good job. To finish, I recommend very frequent visits to monitor care., and there were a handful of exceptionally sincere people working there.

Do not judge a book by it's cover. This is a very nice looking building and is only about 3 years old. Poor quality patient care, shortage of staff on floors & the rooms are not kept clean 50% . Some CNA staff look the other way when patience need help. Some of nursing staff show lack of leadership. Charge nurses need help to do there jobs effectively not able to assist the CNA or check on quality of care given to the patient. Patients are usually neglected. Patient that can not speak up do not place them here. I am Hoping they get it right our love one's life depend on it. Problems identifying critical care and preventive measurements. Often the 7-3 shift has the experience to handle patients efficient and strategically delegate tasks to maximize patients risk. Needs improvement in service training class for staff. Develop a game plan and hold staff accountable.

I agree with the "disgruntled employee" comment. Sounds to me like the administrator is doing things right to get the BEST employees in order to meet the client's needs.

Do not be fooled by the beautiful building. This facility has been open for a little over one year. The customer is promised goods and services the agency can not deliver. There is high turn over rate among management and support staff. The facility has gone through 6 DON's, 3 ADON's, 3 Maintence and Dietary Managers, 2 Housekeeping and Social Worker supervisers, and countless number of support staff. The administrator likes to allow the looks of the facility disguise the truth about the care residents recieve. Residents are often not waited on in a timely manner while the employees sit out back, chat, and smoke. The administrator allows some residents who are private pay break the rules while she looks the other way. The facility is not secure and residents have wondered off from the facility. LOOK AT THE CARE NOT THE AMMENITIES!
