Went there, and very supprised on how UNSAFE the practice is there. R.O.s not watching the line. Several times, they were all inside the building. While NO ONE is watching the firing line. At other times during "Hot" "Live Fire", they would be in a group, with 3 or more range sections unsupervised. I have shot at many places and in the military, this places "SAFETY PRACTICES", scare me to death. Will not recommend nor return.

Been to this range twice. At the time it was $25/hour. Out of one hour each time I was able to actually shoot maybe 15 minutes. The range officers continually kept signaling the line "cold". Not worth the money to drive that far and basically sit there waiting, waiting, waiting to shoot.

No kids under 10 years old allowed.

That keeps me and my 9 year old son out. Otherwise an excellent range.

excellent range

I dont know what some people expect but ive been to most ranges an this one is at the top of the list , of course it s a little exspensive but what more could you ask , it cost about 500-600 to join a hunt club just to shoot long range so in that respect its fair .you can also pick up sime supplies ther as well.the range masters take there job serious an that I dont mine.lots od room for your stuff unlike all the others.I went on base one time...theres bullet holes on both sides of the firing line ..scary stuff.mike is cool enought I might will him my gun..lol.bobs plain sucks an superior has some good employees but the owner sucks...I like places where the hired guns are happy.I boarder on fanatic about guns and this is my place.

Wish it was better

Ive used this range numerous times and in some of my recent visits I've noticed a poor staff. I had a range officer give me enough grief to make me leave. I would not recommend going on a slow day because they will sit out there and comment on everything you do. I will not be back to this facility.

A friend and I recently went...

A friend and I recently went to stretch the legs on some of our older toys and check up on some changes we made to them. I do have to say that the actual range is GREAT, I really like the changes made by the current owners. Very professional line staff!

BUT! We arrived during hot range time, got our place and set up the toys. Now we commenced to wait for a cold line……. And wait….. Well over 30 minutes later the line finally went cold. Now we wait for 15 minutes for the line to go hot. Finally! 45+ minutes later we fire the first round down range, we finished testing our toys (didn’t need much time for our testing). 20-25 minutes later line goes cold we clean up our brass and pull targets. Line goes hot 15+ minutes later, can’t touch your weapons during cold line (good idea!). Now we can pack up to leave. The kicker that I was not expecting was the charge for our time; they charged us for almost 2 hours of range time. We only actually had 20-25 minutes of shooting time. Point being, watch your check-in timing they certainly will let you pay for time not used or get a membership to avoid the charge completely. I’ll spend the extra time and gas driving to my private land next time.

C2 Shooting

After 25 years of shooting this is by far the most professionally run facility I have had the pleasure to frequent. If, like me, you are tired of those places with the long lines, short ranges, and those ever-present "tacticool shooters" who have no business handling (much less shooting) a weapon this is the range for you. As best I could tell, the staff is all prior-military, law-enforcement, or civilian weapons instructors providing for a few hundred years of combined experience and ZERO tolerance for stupidity. There is never a charge for advice or technical help. For a safe, modern, professional time at the range it's worth making the drive. Oh, and bring that Son or Daughter you want to teach how to shoot the RIGHT way before their friends or TV show them otherwise and be sure to stop by a place called "Monks" on the way home. Don't let the looks fool you: They have the best cheeseburger in 25 miles!

Great Large Facility

Had a great time and could not believe such a nice facility existed in the southeastern VA area. It is large with i think 150 or so lanes from 7 yards to a whopping 300 yards. The 200 and 300 yard ranges were not just one lane they were 12 or 16 lanes wide. Great for a long range match. They also have a separate training area with 7 or 8 ranges that were immaculate, in fact the whole place was that way. I have traveled and shot at many locations in the greater US and found this to be one of the best overall. They were nice and professional and didn't bother you on the public range. Their fees were reasonable and the ammo etc. was too. Check them out. I joined as a member after moving to Tidewater, VA.
