Strata... They seem to do ok when there is some sort of competition in the area. I have lived in the Basin for 20+ years. Strata is a good company as long as there is someone else local providing the same service. At the moment there is no one else local (They bought Bresnan, the last cable company.) Strata turns into a nightmare. Customer service is mostly a joke, you can never seem to find anyone who knows what they are talking about. The techs blame your equipment, or the lines inside your house, including the ones they run for you. Being the only internet provider in the Basin, if you want to connect, you have to pay this local monopoly through the roof for whatever connection they decide to provide you. They never can seem to provide a stable connection for the entire month, and refuse to reimburse you for the days/weeks your internet was down. Even some of the satellite companies don't want to touch the Basin. I personally hate Strata and their underhanded monopoly. If they didn't have everyone in the Basin over a barrel they could provide a pretty decent service. If they would stop suing any other company who tries to enter the Basin, we might see some competition again and have decent internet for a decent price. I basically hate Strata as bad as everyone else in the Basin does and wish there was something that could be done about it...

I have had numerous problems with this company. Their employees haven't the slightest clue what they are doing. One employee suggested that we go through our house and unwire all of our phone jacks to get better connection he said. We did that, and it made it worse. Then another employee suggested we did a direct line to the box and drilled a massive whole in our living room wall for a tiny cord to fit through. This is not only unattractive but it did not help. We have called to try to get better connection several times and they say that its fine the way it is. We only have internet 30% of the time. This company is completely unprofessional I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.
