Did you procure your wedding dress and decorations at Walmart and The Dollar Tree? Are you looking for a venue where your guests will feel comfortable wearing their confederate flag/bald eagle tank tops with bbq and armpit stains and their hunter-orange camo shorts? Do you mind having at least seven of the 4,289 extra-large "NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED" signs in the background of every one of your wedding photos? Do you prefer restroom stalls to be carpeted and the walls to be graced with your Great-Grandmother's wallpaper and Jesus prayers in magnificent, plastic, golden frames? Do you think neon-colored, fake-silk flowers are just gorgeous? Do you love the taste and quality of Safeway's sheet cakes? Would you find a "Groom's Room" with the dimensions of 14 inches wide by 35 inches long to be perfectly adequate? Well, if you answered yes to the above questions, you just found the perfect wedding venue for you at The Hostess House!! Congratulations!

Had a Wedding @ HH too in May this year 2011. Very pretty place. Food is way spendy, pews are hard, they have to have it "there way" and not very acommadating. There adverstisment is Wrong " "custimize wedding's, they don't like thinking outside the box" !! NOT KID friendly at all either!!!! If you are going to have more then 50 people do not have your wedding here you WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY ON FOOD!!The cake I din't think turned out all that pretty and if you wanted it prettier they would charge you extra, they give you 3 books to look thru and there all from the 80"s! I Didn't have a problem w/the caterers. When they say there basic plan is $1999. that is what it is the Basic! NO beads no lace, ballons, ect ect, it cost more for the pretty stuff! And for goodness sakes it doesn't include invites or programs.I brought in my own Minister b/c the two choices they would supply you with I wasn't impressed.

I went in to look for a veil to purchase for my wedding. I was not provided any service and my business was turned away because an employee had to many dresses to put away. I was first told i could try on a veil but had 10 minutes to do that, i would have left a happy customer. Instead the employee came back and told me to come back another day and did not allow me to try on any veils.

The Hostess House has a beautiful chapel and reception facility. More than that, we were delighted with the services offered. They helped us with everything from the wedding invitations and flowers to the menu, minister and d.j. service. Hostess House has the best cakes! We will order one for every anniversary! We had a great wedding and will never forget the Hostess House. We could have never put together such a memorable day without the help of the staff. We will recommend the Hostess House to anyone getting married in the Portland area.
