I’ve always been a little leery about donating. I get a bit anxious in public settings and when it comes to medical procedures. Not even my Nursing instructors could convince me to, however a friend of mine persuaded me to take her and I eventually gave in. Most of my experiences have been good. Except today A nurse name James treated me with horrible bedside manner. My pulse was high due to a little anxiety and stress of the world. So I had to sit for the 15min retake. I received an important call which I stepped to the hallway to take only about 2min. Then a I sat back in the waiting area and continued to listen to my meditation music. This particular nurse comes out of his office and tells me that I have been there too long, “30minutes” and that I need to get my vitals or leave. Now at this point I responded by asking him where this is coming from, that I’m not trying to loiter I just feel a bit anxious today. He responded even more aggressive by saying that I shouldn’t come in if I’m feeling that way. So by now I am even more anxious and don’t want anything to do with donating because there are people listening and staring at us. I then tell him I’m going to leave at this time I’m looking to hand off the card to someone nice and speak to a supervisor. He sticks is hand out a says he will take it in a rude and Condescending tone. At this time I ask him is title if he is an RN or LPN and look for his badge. He replies why does that matter? I say to him I’m in the healthcare field and I’m a nursing student. I look up to people like you and your morals and bedside manner. This ended with me talking to the supervisor who was understanding and explained to me some current issues. I let her know that I will not be return to this facility due to James Actions. I can truly reflect on this experience when I become a Nurse. I well remember how low he made me feel and promise never to treat Consumer/ clients/ Residents/ Pt the way I was treated. Step up your Bedside manner

Not worth it!

Wish they would get some centralized training and get a few Cephalanalectomies. Wasted 4 days there and never got to donate! First time their nurse couldn't tell a routine blood test from a whole blood donation. So I e-mailed their corporate office and they said she was wrong and I could go back in and donate. Next two times were not their fault because my red blood cell count was too low. Forth time I'M NOT HAPPY!! I told them about my history of chest pain and medication changes the previous three times I went in. This time after sitting for 3 hours, I get told they need a copy of my most recent EKG from 7 months ago and a list of my current and discontinued medications. I was just at my doctor's office the day before and could have requested them if I would have been told they would need them. They also put a huge bruise on my partner's arm so he is unable to donate anymore because they don't know how to find a vein the first try and if you have a purple bruise you can't donate, even though THEY caused it!
